hi, these were done in photshop 1st one for a contest for ape entertainement then the others were just for fun, 2nd was a bit of ashley wood fan art thanks for any feedback

I love the textures, gives it grain and grit. Amplifies the character.
Humm not sure about the last one tho. Perhaps it would've worked better if the monster had rim lighting, and a cool (dim) bounce-light from underneath. same with the tree, it would give it more depth.

what program did you use to ink those.......?
I love the feel it has, was it painter x?


for the inked works the only thing is the anatomy is a bit off.

for the painting you might want to comp out a closer shot....have the bust of orgre closer so the human in the trees is silohetted on him not the back ground.

The.Mr.Simon- thanks for your input, im not very good at lighting stuff when it comes to this style, i need to use reference when it comes to that, thanks for your advice.

Flipnastywebby- all 3 were done with photoshop, i just used the natural media brushes, there is probably something similar in painter, not sure though im not very good with painter. thanks for letting me know on how to improve these

start a sketchbook, critique center isnt a place to dump every drawing you do.

its a bit absurd to expect people to give a full analysis of numerous pictures.

Grief- if people dont want to give their feedback, thats fine, this isnt my normal style so thats why i posted them here, to get critiques. I didnt ask for a full analysis, any feedback on the work is appreciated. if you dont have anything constructive to add, theres no point in getting rude

i was in no way intending to be rude. the critique threads tend to be directed at individual pieces for advice on elements of design, color, anatomy, perspective, etc.

you can get feedback from the sketchbook section as well (which is always more popular with viewers, meaning you'd get more feedback about generalized things such as styistic directions of your pieces as a whole).

it just seemed to me that you're adding more pictures to a thread which was barely getting feedback from the first wave of images you provided. if you want aid in focusing the strengths and weaknesses of a single piece, it helps to ask for such advice (such as "do you guys think the ______ works or should i try ______ ?") the manner in which you're adding pictures "these are just for fun" is too ambiguous what you are looking for as far as a critique, to me this thread comes off as a thread you're using to showcase your style, rather than get pointers on how to develop further.

anyway i had a few things to say about the pieces you provided, but i'd just be a novel if i wrote about all of them, and too vague if i nit-picked and glazed over with generalizations about the works as a cohesive body of work.

Grief-thanks for letting me know how you think i can use this forum better, but if you dont want to comment about the work, just ignore it. your assuming things that arnt true, like im just posting to showcase my style, but im putting them here so if someone sees an area that needs improvement and wants to be helpful they can point it out, i was just hoping that my weaknesses could be pointed out so i can improve. I had been working on all of my inked ones at the same time off and on, but didnt finish the last ones until later, i thanked the people for their comments and felt like adding them. im not sure why you feel the need to police these forums, when i first posted my images in this section there were 6 and a mod simply gave me a good critique on how to improve, which i thanked them and appreciated their imput. If the amount of work i put up was too much they would have let me know.
