Hey thanks for visiting, here are some of my sketches and figure studies. Not much besides pencil here I'm afraid, but I am learning to use my Wacom.

actually the lips are my wife's, she was paying bills one day and I sat down and drew them. I used to do hands a lot, hence the above fist...i'll try and post some more soon. I use photographs a lot to study anatomy because I don't have the means for a life-study class or anything.

Kinda minimalistic but I like it. I like the simplistic figure studies as well.

I'd like to see some more figure and color studies from you.

drat, i knew color would come up sooner or later...*sigh* ok, time to break down and buy a Wacom, btw - what do you mean by minimalistic? Too little objectivity or not enough detail?

Minimalistic in a sense that the figure sketches don't get to far with line variety or rendering. But I understand that most of them were intentionally drawn that way. Quick gestures are a great way to warm up but I would suggest you try and do a few good finished pieces.

Yes, I agree, I have some I just have to go get them from my mother (gave her most of my completed work) to scan. Rest assured, I'll get em posted!!

Seems like you are making up most of the anatomy of these, but I still like the quick sense of motion you have with the pencilwork.

Sorry about that, I see what you mean. I do tend to break muscle apart into shapes, this helps me remember the general look and shape of the anatomy. For me, I have trouble drawing the female body, therefore I am trying to piece the parts together any way I can. Ultimately my goal is to draw an accurate figure from my head alone without a reference. I am influenced by the Marvel way of doing things so I'm trying to break away from that lately by doing nude studies.

Good start, remember to mix it up by doing a few sketches from the head to work on that imagination.

...but I understand you are mainly working on bigger projects, time is really a factor for some of us!

Nutter - I am working on some things from the noggin, the Soldat WIP over at the critique center is from the head. I'll try and get some more sketches posted up here asap!

Thought I might as well post this. It's not done yet, but i'm working on anatomy right now so it'll have to sit on the backburner. Done with a mouse (reason for some wierd shapes here and there)

Hey just thought I'd dump some more sketchies, there's some older comic book stuff I did. (I have about a billion of those as they are all I did back in high school)

Hi Cmoreland, thank you very much for coming over to my little corner of CA!

Your finished stuff are really nice. And your rendering has the effect that I wish I can achieve lol. I think your anatomy and proportions need a little bit more fine tuning (like mine lol) but aside from that, great stuff! Love the hand bones!

CouchPotato, thank you kindly. Ever had one of those drawings where no matter how hard you try you can't recreate it like the original you did? Try as I might, I can't draw in ink anymore like I did when I drew that hand bone study...I don't know what kind of food I ate that day but I was on top of my game then, now it seems like I have to work back up to that point...weird huh?

Nice start in here. I can't add to what's been said already. More life anatomy studies, less Marvel influence (although it's a damn fun way to draw), yadda, yadda, yadda. Good hand bones study. The 2nd Cobain looks much better than the 1st. Did I spy a Sam Keith Wolverine in there? I'm itching to post some of my old middle/high school days stuff now...

Also, sorry fellas, but Psylocke is the hottest X-babe, hands down. No Psylocke in the movies. Poop.
