Inklings --- a place for ink drawings

There are a number of us who have discovered a mutual love of old fashion Pen and ink. I thought there should be a place for this. I would love to see what otheres are doing withthis medium. I only ask that the drawing are done in ink, without digital touch up.
I use my grandmothers pen and a japanese brush

Heres a few historicals to start

To see the world in a grain of sand, and a heaven in a wildflower, hold infinity in the palm of your hand, and eternity in an hour.

I've also discovered a burning love for ink.

I'll post some of my recent ink life drawings once I get them loaded up.

Chaos: I enjoy that last landscape painting.

Squidmonkey: Those mountainscapes are rad, and the panel of the person with umbrella is cool.

oh geez... i work about 95% in ink, this thread is like asking a fat guy if he wants to finish off your sandwich, you're gonna get mobbed.

just about every image on my thread is an ink drawing.

here's a process of an image.

    yes, nothing but black

For the beginning, here some ink studies i've done for a view years.

148 x 210mm, try it in Moebius style, a great inker. pencil sketch befor inking.

210 x 300mm, free sketch in pencil then inked it over

for this one in 500 x 700mm, using only ink.

The fotos, that i used as reference, are all from this book.

The next Pictures are some Illustrations, that i've done for my Diplom. 22 years ago.

This are scans from copies, so excuse the bad quality.

The next one is a new work from 2007.

And this Woodpecker is a studie for the book illustrations.

(with Rotring Tusche, resist light, fixed when dry)

Really nice stuff! Though I couldn't help notice that in the second drawing of the nude you fail to keep the proportions of girl's back...it looks somehow cut from the ...just my opinion. Other than that...keep up the good work.

Ink is fun... Great work, everyone. Especially Grief

This one's from last year. There's older stuff in this style in the "Black Book" link in my sig (geez, all those links are old as the hills). I've done some more but need to scan...

whoa! there is so much good work in here! it's always refreshing to see the equally impressive, yet diverse work that people can produce using similar materials. here are a few i finished today as part of a commission...cats are based on life sketches...

I have always thought that pure drawing is the ducks nuts, its where an artist's soul lies- painting can be super cool but its also open to being worked on for so long to get "perfection" that it can lose its mojo!
Ink drawing is the closest to zen in western art, especially if there is no or little underdrawing. Be bold, have the courage to go for it, dont try to hit me- just hit me!!

Maan there are some really good ink works in this thread!
sease: i really like that portrait and the One with the ink wash, they're mad!

I'm new here, well i've been browsing the forum for the last few days but this will be my first post! -
i must say i've never seen an online collection of such talented artists, this is where the real art is.

anyhow i'm into pen and ink, i spend alot of time on a train and it gives me something to do hahah - here are some of my inky doodles!
The first one's done in a sepia ink pen with some red ink, i emphasized the colour in the eyes on photoshop. D:
