Forget nobel prize. You're slowly climbing towards the greatest achievement in life one could reach: Five stars here in CA. So five stars from me too.
Five from me, dude. Wouldn't have it any other way.
Though, I will say, sometimes it looks like you slack off with drawing hands. Tighten up those graphics, son!![]()

YihyoungLi A lot of really great points, and I'm still trying to explore how to mix more 'photographic' effects, like depth of field with looking for a more painterly style. Hopefully I'll pull it off better in the future.
Melfeyhaha to be honest man, any and all of those. The main thing is, draw as often as you can, and enjoy what you do. Make sure you have fun with your studies as well as imagination work. I'd say start with anatomy, perspective and values. and work from there. Theres so much to learn, and the great thing about art is you can always get better, so you can always keep it fresh and interesting. Anyway, I'm not really the person to ask, I'm too lazy and still pretty inexperienced. Just strive to learn something new daily.
Darkside thank you very much
Dekalyeah I agree, gotta stop taking the easy way out with blur effects haha :/

Well, been busyish the past few days, Went to see the Mars Volta live in London a couple of nights ago, who were mindblowing. Then, yesterday I went up to London again to check out the Summer Exhibiton and The J.W.Waterhouse exhibition at the Royal Academy of Arts. The Waterhouse thing was so ridiculously insipiring. If you are in London check it out!
In the free time I've been knocking up this. I'll post the finished image and the little thumbnail I knocked up before hand as a comparison. The Final pic was painted straight to colour, using the thumb as a rough guide for values.
trying to do different types of faces and stuff,

So amazing! The lips are gorgeousness^10. And those eyebrows are kinda interesting haha. Awesomeness, especially with the colors.
I think her ear is a little strange--too small? Or maybe on the wrong plane? Also, her forehead seems kind of flat; perhaps pulling those cold lights on the left over a little more.
looks awasome great portrait i really dig the colors you used
especially with the light and all
it seems like the lips attract the most attention![]()
overall it looks fantastic![]()
mmmmmm...
miles..........
you're good, btw cast shadow on the chin should star a little more to our right so it comes off the form shadow, other than that, it's great.
Looking good man!!
Good to see you pushing for different facial types--looking great! One thing worth mentioning is that in the thumbnail, she looks kind of sly and sexy; in the finished piece, she almost looks worried or nervous (which I think is a more interesting choice of the two, but I'm not sure if it was a conscious one...). Beautiful work, though. Really excited to see where this book goes.
I think the shoulder feels way to small compared to the head in the final. I notice that you often make the shoulder too thin compared to the head with your ladies. Loving the colours on this, keep it up

Just skimmed through your section here. Wow you have had some skill growth over the last few years! I like you dedication so far you seem to be taking in good info from the comments and creating some cool images! Just keep going and push yourself like we all have to. Keep drawing from like as much as you can to mix it in with the imagination type work. With art skills you can never stop learning and with the Internet it is a great tool for this. Later.
face is coming out awesome, Miles. the colors and stuff are working well. awesome brush tech too.

Basically been a busy week, been in hospital for a day and been out a lot. However I've just landed a freelance job that seems awesome, designing characters for a roleplaying board game. It pays pretty well and shuld be good practice for presenting work more professionally.
So basically, we have,
Unfinished personal work
sample of some pencils
And here is all the conceptart related stuff, from today and yesterday, of course posted with permission. I'll link to the project they are for when moreinfo is avaliable. All still W.I.P

cool update mang, with that colored concept you should really pump out some more hues, it's kind of general right now, you made a red stripe thing on the sword, you should include that color throughout the design!
page 78, you're nuts![]()
