    TaiPoh's sketchbook

Hi, I'm new here, still trying to figure my way around and stuff. I'm 19 this year, currently studying Illustration in TOA, Malaysia.

This is a quick sketch I did, very much influenced by the dryads from Warcraft 3. I did a mistake with the right dryad's right hand, looks as though she buried her hand in her hair or something. And the left dryad's legs. Oops.

This is a sketch I decided to paint. I don't really like the way it's turning out. The problem with me is that I keep on painting over again and again until the details below are lost. Any suggestions?

First try doing portrait with coloured pencils:

Gong Li in Raise the Red Lantern, one of her earlier films. Somehow I don't feel like finishing this. But I'll try to. C&C very much welcomed.

This is what I get when I don't draw guidelines first. Have lots to learn. Snake from Metal Gear Solid, I've never played that game before, but I like the concept art very much.

Pencil portrait, I edited the paper texture.

I don't like her face. Any tips on how to fix it?

Love the one with Gong Li, but I think you should leave it as it is.

Great start for your SB! I love your rendering style with pencil and the portrait with color pencils are great ( first attempt? impressive ! ). Can you tell us what colors did you use for this?

    Keep sharing, ciao

Nice start dude. Keep it up, i especially like your two portraits (coloured pencil and graphite) try and really nail those value changes and you'll progress even more in no time. Hope to see more soon.

Hey TaiPoh great work all around man
I think you've overdone a little with the highlights in the horse/dragon type creature, other than that it's looking very nice.
Portraits are really good, especially the last pencil rendering.
BTW is that coloured pencil portrait supposed to be Gwyneth Paltrow? cause it looks a lot like her.
Keep it up, I'm looking forward to seeing more from you *subscribing*
