heres a little WIP shot of the orchead, still workin on it, little by little, and a WIP of typical demon concept done with prismacolor, alcohol and charcoal... Also, my friends class is making a video game so he asked me to do the concept art for it... so ill have some new concepts to show soon!

hey jamie, i think it would help you to forget about rendering and digital painting right now, just draw as much as u can so you can get more milage, and so that your designs become more believable in the sense of underdrawing not rendering.

also just get like a mini sketchbook and just take it with u everywhere and draw as much as u can.. like when there is just like 5 minutes and your away from home waiting for something or what not , u could be drawing something to pass that time.

maybe set a week and say "well im really bad at hands so im gunna raw as many hands from life reference and imagination(but mainly life) as possible all week." if you put that dedication into it then im sure ur stuff will improve alot. just focus on ur drawing weaknesses right now.

Well Argh thanks for the comments, and I will do what I can to listen to some of it... but as a matter of fact, I cant put away rendering and finishing drawings, because I am making money doing commissions right now, and my friend hired me to do conceptual art for his video game, So that will be going into my portfolio... But I will do my best to listen to what you have to say, and ill do what I can, thanks for the in depth crit though... its just hard working a full time job and having several medical problems that I just went over with my doctor... there is alot wrong with me, mentally (because of my sisters passing) I have a huge amount of anxiety, and I also have carpel tunnel in my write hand from drawing.. but after I finish these 3 commissions I just got, and finish all the concepts for my friend I will start doing alot more sketches, and studies...thanks again!

Here is my finished Orc head concept, and also my sketch for one of the characters for my friend... just a sketch, I have alot more work to do on him before he is ready to be called final...

hope you like, im kinda in a slump where I feel I am the only one that is happy with my art... a HUGE switch from what it usually is but w/e...

Its been a while, and I have been slacking yet again... lately im finding it very very hard to stay motivated.... but anyways, im starting to get my life together, I have an amazing girlfriend now, and she quickly turned my super depressed mood around. I find life very worth it, and I find that im starting to get somewhere, and I just overall think that there is more meaning to my life now... And im just happy all together now, ...

And so here goes nothin, just some stuff I feel like posting, I will have a finished drawing up here by the end of the weekend!

Ok so im only gonna upload 1 wip, the next post I make will be the finished result of this drawing. It is for a contest at artwanted.com... the deadline is 12pm on the 30th but because of time zones, i might actually have a couple more hours.... so ima finish it and post and hope it is accepted... THIS ONE is not a scan, it is a photo just because it was quicker, anyways, will have the finished one up in an hour or 2...

working on the drawing of my dog... taking longer than i expected, but id rather take it slow, then finish it sloppily, its my dog, and it will go in a frame and be hung up when im done, so i want it to look good!

heres a page in felt pen, just some simple pen studies, because one... i need to do more studies, and 2 I need practice with these felt pens... im able to draw and render with ballpoint, but not being able to put down shades is a whole different feel... more updates later tonight?

final WIP: I might just smooth out the rendering on the body some more, and maybe draw her into the white background with some midtones or something, c+c???

Hey! Cool sketchbook! The portrait of your dog looks wonderful!! I was going to suggest pushing the extra little bit towards more photoreal drawings and you did just that! Great work. Continue your Bridgman studies and drawing from life and you'll be set. Looking good so far.

A lil update for tonight, a couple of old studies, and doodles, and a new nude study ( the white one, and I already noticed the head size is off >_< , well... this is why I call myself rusty... and I hate it... just give me a couple weeks, maybe I can get back to business! )
