Some face skethes, still struggling with them, i know some of my faces look weird, they need more structure and form- a face is NOT flat- they need more life too, i need to study expressions and perspective. -
Lol -see so many problems after they are on the computer i need to think more of the necks as well!!!
Some crappy self portraits and i wanted to make a profile drawing to paint. Hopefully tomorrow...
Painting + life drawings. Gotta go paint some more, maybe a 3/4 face next?
I think the painting is pretty good. I like the second life drawing best of the set.
Asatira- Thanks, still figuring stuff out...
Painted these rough sketches earlier today. Still kinda trying to do a WWI-ish look for them.
hey man you got a lot of cool shit! Where are you from by chance?
I'm in awe Nick. Keep it up man (as if you'd stop right?).

Hey guys, I’m back!!! Been a LOOOONG time, over 2 years since I last posted in my sketchbook!
Wish I could say I was drawing the entire time...
I kind of lost my way, lost the passion for over a year where I was doing little/no art, I forgot why art was fun in the first place...I think part of the problem was that I got a job in the game industry , and part of my mind was like “I did it, I got a job! I'm Safe!” so I focused on the job and did nothing for myself or for personal development… This year I started to study again, and do art on my own... I have been inspired by a few friends as well as Dave Raposa and the Crimson Daggers!
I debated starting a new thread because the absence has been so long...
But I think one of the best aspects of a sketchbook is the progression and being able to track progress! So I’m going to start by posting some VERY OLD stuff. I dont thinks its very good anymore but I feel some of them were significant or breakthrough pieces for me at the time, and belong in this thread...
Anyways its good to be back! I think hopefully this thread will help me to keep learning-and meet some more cool people!

great return! dig the FISH2-1.jpg
Glad you're back. I enjoy your studies. Rather inspirational. Fires me up to get back into doing some of my own, and ways to approach it. Your anatomy studies are so clean. I will say that the last two sphere studies are a little rough, namely in the shadows.
Beautiful pencile sketches of nudes.
Vertical- Hey thanks!
theUNKNOWNsketcher- Glad you like it!
Asatira-Thanks! Yeah those were kinda sloppy...
Big Orange- Thanks!
More Studies, trying to practice value:
Some generic character drawings and some beasts, i need to work on my poses, and weight- its hard for me to place the legs in position that look right without reference..
Cool stuff man, glad to see u back.

All from life...self portraits were too quick and sloppy

Those studies rock. I love all the anatomy stuff. It's so meticulous and nice.

Hiya Sealegs! Thanks for stopping by my SB, glad you're back posting work, I love your anatomy studies, they give me incentive to do more myself and your lines and colours are so clean! Especially on the still lifes
Keep on truckin!
karantina- Thanks so much! Glad you like it
NickyBeats- Thanks man!
Angel Intheuk- np! Thanks
Here are some longer photo studies, around 4hrs each...
Love it all so far! Will have to go back and look at your whole thread when there's time.
Those Bammes studies are breathtaking and your use of value and color are really pretty good. You're working from photographs and making the results look volumetric. Kudos. 5 stars, and all that jazz (subscription, etc)
