I just got a new computer, and I'd love to somehow copy over my entire Painter workspace from one computer to the other-- custom pallettes, custom brushes and variants, custom papers, etc. Is there an easy way to hit this all in one fell swoop?

Hi,
Yep, but only in Painter X since we don't have the new Workspace feature in Painter IX.5 and earlier versions.
In Painter IX.5 and earlier versions, it's not an "all in one fell swoop" procedure.
If you want to port all of your custom settings, preferences, Custom Palettes, custom brushes, etc. from Painter IX.5 to another computer, you'll need to copy your Painter IX.5 User folder to the other computer.
Then if you have any custom items (folders and files you created or added) in the Painter IX.5 application/program folder, you'll need to also copy those to your other computer.

Jin--
Thanks for the quick reply.
Looks like I'll have to hunt for the user folder and see if copying that works.

Hi bdfoster,
If you read my post before I edited it, it contained instructions for Painter X only. Then I noticed the subject of your thread and changed it to apply to your Painter version, Painter IX.5.
Sorry. The new Workspace feature in Painter X was on my mind the moment I read the word "workspace" in your post.
If you haven't read the edited version of my post, please do since it contains instructions that apply to Painter IX.5.
Painter IX User folder location:
Mac - /Users/[User Name]/Library/Application Support/Corel/Painter IX/
Windows - Documents and Settings\[User Name]\Application Data\Corel\Painter IX

Thanks Jin. I figured I led you with the wrong terminology.
It looked like this worked, but then Painter closed as soon as I tried to make a brushstroke and won't restart..... Hrmmmmmm
