Hello Fellow Artists,

My name is Cecely. I'm new to this site. I'm trained in the fine arts, and I want to create concept art for a living. I'm working on my portfolio now, and I find myself pondering the difference between my life drawing training and the forms I see by artists here. I'm wondering if the process of drawing those figures is any different than what I've been doing.
I was taught to begin drawing lightly, using general shapes and lines (circles, squares, etc) to get the general feel of the form and pose down. Afterwards, I flesh out and do the same to begin adding details. Would someone in our community here enlighten me as to how you go about creating your characters? I'd appreciate it.
