Since a lot of requests have been popping up lately for interviews about how the pros became pros (i.e. what they studied, what their first job was like, etc) I think it would be great to have a series of questions in one editorial answered by some pros from CA. Ideally one artist from a different discipline could each respond to the same questions (artists who create book covers/cards/print, texture art, maquettes, enviro design, storyboard/comics, animator, character artist, weapon design, etc) and we can cover different ages as well (Lookin' at you, Masque, Elwell and Ilaekae!) to show the "then and now" aspect of illustration.

    Sound like an idea?

Take the photos out. They totally don't work with the idea of this site (in my humble opinion). And I second Carnifex's suggestion to include Mattias sketchbook.

The photos work fine with this site, Gringo. There IS a photo thread, after all, so why not show it off?

This is great, Oblio. I like to see threads like this. Nice job on pulling it all together so far.

I like the photo's! You're a fool if you don't think "different" disciplines apply to your own.

I third adding m@'s sketchbook, he's been putting up some great video's lately; been learning a bundle

I knew there is faith in the lounge area

Steph - Milligan is supposed to answer my questions since TWO WEEKS AGO :p Lazy artist... i will make my team descent uppon his office soon.
As for the others... they are next.

Gringo - photos will stay. if there was a ballet section on this forum - i would pimp that area too. anyone?

    Updates are on the way.
Man.. some discoveries - i'm in love with CA again No wonder there are 400 people online in the scetchbooks and only 150 in the finished area
Maybe... artist are too shy these days ?

Because this is a conceptart forum. not a photo forum. MB does concept art, 3d art, not photo shoots. Blah.

I just think CA.org (and it's editorial, even more so) should focus and promote on what it´s VERY good, not on what it's average. If I want to see good photos, I go to http://www.magnumphotos.com/, or check out theonlinephotographer blog, etc. Better stuff there, HANDS DOWN.

whatever, if you want CA.org to eventually become a deviantart fuckfest, then it's fine with me. can't wait to read your poetry attempts mate

I second the idea of the interviews. But ask for photos of the people; i hate communicating with avatars, if you know what i mean...
Great job there with the editorial, i must say.
    Thumbs up,

Sculpture can be considered part of concept art, and 3d work overall, and part of art. Just like a lot of work here (including mine), in the illustration and concept fields are not top notch. Don't post meaningless and useless posts just for the sake of posting Carnifex - don't misinterpret me, i'm just against showing photos in a mainly concept art/illustration website editorial, not against photography in general, which I obviously love and practice. & most photos there are average, and what's worse, is that average photos are being shown in the editorial. simple as that. Not much I can do, but I can obviously "shout" my opinion about it.

No, I thought the photos were great and had some really interesting compositions (like the one with the telephone lines and the palm tree).

Very glad the photos are there.

Something that has really inspired me:

I wanna see some more of m@'s work too...been following his SB and vids for a long time now...guy is nuts. I think you have most of the good art from many "respected" artists in the thread already, like Hurricane, Chuck,Mate, Marco, Marzonni (sp), and others... Interview is good too, would like to know more about a field I doubt I'll enter anytime soon. I was also thinking we could have some sort of weekend questionnaire that pros answer live, via IRC, Ventrillo, etc.
