Keep up those hand studies mate, they're looking good. They're a pain in the ass to draw for a while, but once you got them down, you got them down. Keep it up.

Hey Mike, thanks for the good words, your studies are really good and motivational. I myself don't have the balls to post things like this one anymore:

    http://www.molszak.nl/conceptart/50_gestures_02.jpg

    Though I should...

I think you should work with color more, force yourself. I struggle with it myself but just forcing myself to post again and again eventually it gets better. Also outside of a couple of oil paintings most of these look unfinished... perhaps the lack of colors gives this perception too. Try to take one to a finished state. Looking forward to more updates.

Sirio_Brozzi - Thanks man. i intend to. they really bug me so have to do more of em. same with the rest of the body actually

n1va - you should draw what you feel like drawing. i personally just love those pictures of naked chicks. the poses are mostly the same but man what a bodies. Still have to do a lot of practicing to draw super sexy chicks so... your totally right about the color thing. i have to force myself to work more with it. i guess i'm kind of afraid of it. have to fight this fear so, we'll be practicing that as well

here's a very small update. arm studies for the spartan thread.

metal mike, spartan thread is great!, anatomy studies are so boring..hehe but important.. make sure you compliment it with some gestures too.. I think bridgman studies are really good in blocking anatomy.. and that also makes it the hardest too I think.. but definitely have a look at some of his books..

    Ulver - Thanks man.
Grandmassa Mr. Spect - hahaha, thanks a lot
Cold - thanks, doing my best to keep it up. it's hard with all the other stuff you know.
Oregano - thanks a lot man. check out my latest one below
D-V364 - thanks a lot man. never really concentrated on creature design. think i'll try doing that more often. it's pretty fun to do.

ok a very small update here. i finished this yesterday. hope you'll like it. I don't know why but painting works much better for me in the traditional medium instead of digital. every time i try it digitally i end up with messed up results
guess i'll just keep on practicing

    Crits very much welcome

    re

That's a great idea to paint the cropped eyes and just focus on an area. I'll think I'll give it a try one day. I like the clean muscle studies you did on the arm.

Love the last post here, a totally different level, awsome!
It might be hard to get used to the digital medium (it is for me) but try to work in the same way. I want to see more of that stuff you got there, keep 'em comming!
