Agh, the tech stuff! That last version of the jet is perfection. Gah, your sketchbook is full of gems like that. The beard-hair thing reminds me of some kind of... like one of those microscopic imaging things with the crazy colors; "and here we have an AIDS virus latching onto a white blood cell..." Fantastic stuff, man!

Hey Bill thanks for stopping by my SB again!
I love this latest SuperFuchsia character, the style and colors work great.
I'm also very much fond of those sharkdogs from a couple pages before, they're golden!

Josef K. - Thank you! Tech is a whole 'nother realm, thas fo sho. Okay... will try to keep posting.

MsMaverick - Thank you!! I'm still really pleased with how my jet turned out. And -- Yes, I actually think I'll be doing some fantasy medical illustration in the near future. You don't see much (any?) of it, really, but I've always been impressed by the organic abstraction of so much medical illustration, and am definitely gonna mess about with it.

entdroid - Thank you! I should stop by your book more often. Glad you liked my shark dog doodles! Also glad you like my FUCHSIA... I was actually hoping you would like it, so it worked out good.

jedininjaman - Aah, you are quite right about the helmet/cranium thingy. I'll be more careful with future headgear. Oooh, Walrus Bug... I keep forgetting about that poor creature! Thank you for liking! Promise I will finish him up one of these days!

Farvus - Thanx! Yes, pay closer attention! [ *snaps fingers* ]

Welp, I've got an art show at a local establishment opening on Friday. It's all stuff from the past few shows over 2oo7-8, with one new painting. I'll include the promo flier, as well as the new pic, below. The new pic looks much better in-person... The scanner picked up the canvas texture something awful. I think the little bird creature might be my favourite part of the whole thing. Jeez, it looks so flat here. Oh, well. See whatchya think, anyhows.

First it's: HAND LAND Flier, then it's "NOTION OF CONSTANCE" - Acrylic on CanvasBoard, and finally a DETAIL SHOT

Holy shitbags! sorry I'm not one for words.. but this is an incredible sketchbook. I airbrushed for years before changing to digital so it's really cool to see the transition here. Well I feel very inspired, you have a wicked imagination

Nice cheetah btw.. yeah i prefer the original one too

Idiot Apathy, Texahol, DanielC, TheGnoll - Thanks guys! I don't really know that congratulations are in order, though. It's just a little local show, and god knows what the outcome will be. I've dropped prices through the basement, though, in hopes that I will sell as many as possible... I was factoring in the economy, the location, and my desperation.

coldrum - Aah, a fellow AbArter! Thank you, glad you like! Stop in again.

Vorace - Thanx! Yes, I like to think that there's a bit of variety here. Glad you like my blue pencils! I'll do more...

TheGnoll - That's what it stands for. No more mystery here. Sory, I didn't take any pics. I thought about taking my camera, but I didn't wanna have to hold it all the time, and also it really tends to make everyone blurry. Was a good time, though.

One of the pieces somehow got damaged, and I felt compelled to replace it. The result was this guy... It made me late for the opening because I was still working on him, so I didn't have time to scan it in, but I did take this crappy snapshot to show you. He makes me smile. See whatchya thinks:

I was playing around with DOG MAN PORTRAITs for the current DSG, and these are what I came up with. I'm new to using the pressure-sensitive Opacity setting on brushes, and am happy to have found how effective a control/approach it can be. Probably A. is my favourite, but I like things about each. (I'm kinduv embarrassed by C, actually... It's so friggin flat.) I also like working at this size, and am thinking that I might try doing enviro paints this way...

Iridyse - Thank you. Although it's rather crude, I had you in mind when I was messing about with dogman A, and also when I was creating the tiny alien bug.

    Here's a random doodle.
