Almost forgot these two. I really like this first one. Did it freeze-frame-style while watching "Ben Hur". Great movie.

    Comments are always appreciated. Thanks!

you have some nice pencil work dude some nice strong lines and values ! i think it would be nice to see some nice original work tho ! just my opinion that is like your own characters or something also maybe take your pencil art to the next stage by drawing a scene... fully fleshed out character in an environment.

anyways keep up the work dude.. it does sometimes take a while for people to comment just the way things are sometimes hehe oh oh is that speed racer ?

Hi, Razorb. Thanks for the comments.

I do need to work on backgrounds. These are mostly just figure studies, I guess, that I do on graveyards when things are slow. I usually don't have time for backgrounds. Should concentrate on original stuff a lot more too (the smoking buzzard is mine, and the baby, of course). I like to draw from reference too much maybe, it just makes it easier for me. All good excuses for not drawing more on my days off...I need to draw, draw, draw!

Not so much Speed Racer...Voltron. Captain Keith, he pilots the black lion. Yeah, I'm a big retro, um, 80's geek...

    Thanks for posting.

I simply love the tiger studies! You really showed the muscle and bone structure very well in those pieces. I also like your anime style. It's amazing that you have so many differering styles..it's simply wonderful!

    Wow, thanks a lot Quack!

Tigers are beautiful animals. It's a shame to think that they could disappear from the Earth in our lifetime. 3 of the 8 sub-species already have. Imagine a world without them. It's a bit duller place, isn't it?

Responses. Sweet. Well I guess I have to post more now...

I dunno, just an acrylic piece I was playing with.

Here's an old scratchboard piece I did in middle school...HA!

Homage to Mark Texeria, all-time best pencils on Ghost Rider. That guy knows how to draw some wicked flaming skulls!

This was a portrait that ended up looking more like a charicature.

Ok, some of those are really hard to see...sorry. Sometimes I'm pretty bold with my pencils, sometimes quite subtle. Must...push...values!

This is really quite a bunch of variety :o You draw just about a bit of everything! But you should try and sit down and concentrate on trying to churning out some original concepts rather than continue drawing established characters(as fun as it might be), the pencil+ink work has shown some potential.

    Keep it up.

    Thanks Sajad and Sirio.

Original concepts, yes indeed. That's what I'm hearing. I'll work on that. More soon.

Really liked the Larva one. Must've taken forever to fill that in! Very nice anime stuff. Also enjoyed that Jason piece! Plenty of shadow.

OK, I came here twice...and both times that spider gave me the creeps. I have a thing about spiders. I like it though. I also like the one with the skydiving ninja. I would really like to see you finish the Native American - that expression is great; communicates something - don't know what, but it reaches out to me...

This is some good work. I'm getting an itching to go sketch all of a sudden.
I saw a couple pieces that looked like they could use some tightening up on the anatomy side of things but the majority is pretty solid. Some of them could also use a bit more contrast I think... some darker darks and lighter lights to bring a bit more life to them. And the baby face is Awesome! I think it would be hilarious if you added some chocolate cake smashed all over the face! lol... I just remembered this pick of my sisters face from back in the day with cake smashed all over it haha...
Nice work, you have versatility with several styles that's good to have.

    Keep it up!

Thanks guys for the crits and kind words. I'll try to return the favor soon.

Daraf: Thanks. I really dig your stuff.

Begold: Thanks bro. Start posting some new stuff damnit!

G.Owen: Thanks for stopping by. I really admire your work. That Indian was done from a photograph by the great Edward S. Curtis. I had fun drawing it. Maybe I will tighten it up...

Zhimson: Thanks for the crits and compliments. That's my daughter, btw, now 8yrs. She rocks. Don't know where it will be posted, but watch soon for a face painting project she and I will endeavor upon starting this week...

ped454: Thanks man, definately check back. I promise to start posting again soon, had cpu problems at home lately. Mark Texeria is the man, I'm glad he's working on Ghost Rider stuff again. I probably draw too much fan art...

New art soon in this thread, or my name isn't Piranha Clan (and it isn't).

These are actually a year or so old. Top picture is my daughter Madison, now 8yrs. 2nd pic is Madison and her friend Becca, now 7yrs.

    EXTREME CUTENESS!!!

We're going to start some new ones soon. I'm still learning face painting skills. More sketches later today also.
