My Sketch Book!
RaistlinTheDark - thanks for the comments.
The bodybuilders were from 80's books and actually look tiny compared to today's female bodybuilders.

Thanks for stopping by my sketchbook. You have some really good illustrations. Your monochrome work is very clean and tight.![]()

I love those animals at the top, especially the falcon, but your comic work is striking as well, very clean with good contrasts. There are some proportion issues... and I'm not talking about the muscles :p do you do figure studies? If not, I highly recommend it.
Great work, keep posting!
Thanks alot mitso6989Your monochrome work is very clean and tight.
Thanks for the comments nilaffle, could you add abit more detail - what areas in the anatomy etc. I'm thinking that the heads may be to big, but what's grabbing your attention? There are some proportion issues... and I'm not talking about the muscles

Hey man, really dig the comic work. Maybe you should try pushing the linework further by adding more dramatic variations in stroke weight. Jumping from hairlines to those heavy stroke might really make some of the images jump out. Consistent line weight kind of flattens drawings a bit, but its also kinda of a stylistic decision too. Either way, really like the stuff.

mentalSherpa - Most of the linework is done with pen, although I have been having 'cravings' to get the old brushes and nibs out again... so there could be some messy ink stained posts coming up.Maybe you should try pushing the linework further by adding more dramatic variations in stroke weight

Anyway, not really sketchbook stuff, but freehand airbrushing (an actual airbrush). No stencils were used (except the borders) and these were for practise, so no touch-ups will be made etc - so as close to sketching with an airbrush as I'll get.
The first pic is very loosely based on a portion of a Giger image, The second is my sons plastic ride-on bike, the arnie pic was my first attempt at something more realistic (yeah the face is off) and the rest are just for fun. A couple have actually been sold too!

very clean line work. i would have to say that the first tonal piece of arnold and the blue sketches are the nicest...they convey a good volume. the last piece on your first post is also quite strong as well. the rendering on the last post is a bit soft and loses/masks the style that you have. possibly pushing the color and rendering style/approach on the first pieces may help you get to the next level![]()
holy shizzle bo nizzle nice work

Really cool work of ink and pencil.Airbrush stuff also burning.
Keep going.
great work, some are very original. Have you tried making an ink design and use airbrush on top of it?
A few more pages from my sketchbook. A bit slow updating lately as I have been doing airbrushing, painting etc.

Sevans you are definitely comic book artist. But still I can see in your work some of "SOROYAMA" abstrakt way of drawing and I love it. I will have to agree with someone mentioned earlier your disproportion problem but you have very nice gesture expressions. And just one more thing. I see you use airbrush ( media I always wanted to try ). Try to make those lines sometime thicker and sometimes hair thin and you will see your figures will look much better. For instance make line thicker at all outside bendings such as elbows and so... Overal very nice vork post some more.
ron
dude, nice work!
Thanks Paac, will check out your sketchbook.

Hi, Sevans! I finally found your sketchbookSome figures are pretty nice. A lot of different comic face styles. Since I see you like anatomy and will therefor enjoy it, I suggest you study even more and maybe post also some faster and more loose sketches. Be very careful of proportions. Best luck!
Thanks matejkovacic - your completely spot on about me needing to do more quick and loose sketches. Even when I'm just playing in my sketchbook I feel the need to ink and tidy up everything. Need to do more 'playing' with my art.

Excellent stuff Sevans.
As others have mentioned you have a great clean, comic style. I also am very impressed with the airbrushed stuff (I have an airbrush but I've never used it!!), and the initial colour animal portraits. Really nice style.
Keep it up mate!
Thanks Nismo

Very Cool Stuff. You have talent!
But you seem to stick with what you are comfortable with.
Lets see some life drawings. Lets see you do a charcoal or pencil. I think that your consistent line weight is hurting you.
I would like to see some more varied body types and more dynamic poses from you. Your stuff is fun to look at but I think you can push it further.![]()
