ok, its been a few days, finally got a chance to do the NEW revisions they wanted:
    make her less sexy
fill in the holes of the outfit on the hips and shoulders
    add clothing

    haha
so i spent about an hour and a half sketching out ideas, these are the best of the best that i came up with:

This looks good. I really like the different revisions and the ones that have the check marks are the best choices right? Well, you picked the right ones then.

ok, so the client finally made a decision on the design.
cleaned it up, did the side view, and made a back view even though they didn't ask for it.
let me know what you think:

Now that it's bigger, I must say that the knees could use some more...width. They look fragile guy. I knew something was throwing me off. Other than that, there really isn't too much to crit.

Wow, so Stark has an ass phobia. Probably more of an Evangeline Lilly guy, I bet... nothing wrong with a nice ass-shelf, though.

It's very likely the ass might 'read' more convincingly if the girl were in high heels. But that's more of a conventional viewpoint. There are so many actual women who have asses like that in the real world, even without the heels.

Costume designs are very good. I forget, is this going to be for 3D modeling?

Sharp work. You seem to be as adept with Illustrator as you are with a pencil.

I hate you for that. But you know, in a good way.

I need to see a bit more but I like direction. No one ever really uses photos for web layouts. Show me more of a finished and I can crit it better for you.

    Cheers!

im not sure i understand your comment... thats the design.
that would be the FINISHED design. those are the buttons you click.
and i took the photo. i can also point you to about a million websites that use pohtos for their layout...
maybe i dont understand your comment...

anyway, i have a few more here:

Well, when I was doing web design way back in like 2003-2005, I did it a bit different. I designed the entire thing in PS, hardly any photo usage. I'm old skool, what can I say? But I understand now. I thought you were going to do more than what you presented is all. If that is the finished product, then by all means, rock with it. I like it. But for all intents and purposes, the last one is best. I know you wanna go minimalistic and that one has the right stuff. The others are just too empty and with the color text you used, would drive a viewer's eyes bonkers. But I like what you are doing and I totally dig it. Ultimately, it's your website. Go with what you think represents who YOU are and what you are showing.

I agree with Jens. I like the site tests. I'd still go with the last one or the second to last. The first is great too though.

Fantastic sb you have here, digging the design side of things especially. Those site designs are looking good - all of them. Feel very accessible, no funny intros or heaps of sub-sections before you arrive at anything. Very sensible design, and aesthetically pleasing to boost.

great book, very underrated - have a boost in stars. this one deserves it.

    The site links are excellent.

I forgot if I had asked, though... when you click onto each category, will it take you to a different photo each time, or the same different photo each time? In other words, only the closeup and the wide shot, or will there be more variations on the visual theme, depending on where you link to?

You're a force of nature, and I've always been happy to stand near, watching you create the most amazing things.

I learn a lot from you, as should everyone.

As far as the sites go, I'd personally go with the first idea. It's the most unique and interesting. I'd like to see some sort of border so that the photo doesn't just cut off to black. Maybe make it look like a reel of negatives behind a light source, so you can just about see the edges of two other similar (or same) photos. I'm not sure about the roll over for the text though.
I look forward to seeing how you develop it.

    been awhile...
i haven't been able to draw at all lately either.
well, these sketches here were all done in pen, and all done at work... so these are all basically absent minded doodles while doing ram previews in aftereffects.
this is all the drawing i've been able to do in the past 4 or 5 months.

oh, but if you guys get a chance, check out my flickr page:
    http://flickr.com/photos/undertow_drown/sets/
and if you got a couple hours to waste, check out my favorites. i've found TONS of great photographers on flickr and have labeled all my favorite photos of theirs.

well, here are the random pen doodles:

These sketches, as usual, are quite great. The Hulk piece with the stop sign is fucking hilarious! I find it consistently interesting that you take such a harsh approach with your male characters, but you really do tend to get more sensual with your linework when it comes to the female form.

The sketches are always great. But I think I've identified what I've been missing in your work.

With the rare exception, I've not seen you do any illustrations with characters placed into environments. Organic or architectural. I hope this is what you start concentrating on soon. In other words, I'd like to see you jump into full illustrations. Figuring out size and dimension, actually telling a story in a single illustration, with characters interacting with other characters, and their environments. This is before you take anything to color or Photoshop.

Time to start creating worlds within worlds, my friend. I think you're way past being ready to step up to that much higher level...

i really like you drawing style, its very loose, wish my drawings could be as loose and prescise as these.
you seem to have a good knoweldge of anatomy and your applying it well into work. definetly keep it up. i wanna see more.

Great SB complete2, a nice variety of mediums and styles. I must say I really like your personal website designs, I come from a graphic design background, so I can appreciate the thought process that went into them. Personally I like the photographic one.
