The Car2nist - FEB 25 UPDATE - NEW styles, NEW sleeve tattoo

Haven't been here in a LONG ASS TIME, sorry! haven't been drawing much, oh well makes me cry at night, but now im back on track and drawin alot more, I really hope you enjoy these new pics.

this is a little older than the others

it was quick, and everything just came out at random.

for an art project, for the poem "nantucket"... this has nothing to do with the poem... but it works since everything described is in it...

used marvy markers and prismacolor markers, just bought a new goldenrod marker so i can finish that ribbon (THESE THINGS ARE EXPENSIVE, 4 DOLLARS A MARKER HERE!)

my tattoo blueprint, the colors are too dark cause of the camera, the fade is hot, but in the pic its not... so blah

if you can deal with the blurriness, so can I, here's a bunch of random things put down in my sketchbook, i use a 9 x 12 sketchbook so real pics are pretty big and more detailed, so here it is.

this is the project i been workin on, its almost finished

    tattoo design

I was... so, this is what i came up with a comic imma make someday, the animals in the bottom are ROUGH ROUGH quick sketches to fill in the strip, so dont think thats what they're gunna look like, looks like a halftard drew them (its about a crackhead squirrel, hes saying "2 doves for a dollar" if you were wondering)

the one with the dog catching a frisbee is for a girl who did my econ test, i bribed her with an original drawing, if she gets me a good grade..

anyways please feedback, i need opinions.

i used prismacolor markers, expensive, took me a long time to get ahold of some too, but damn, they're SWEET haha. yea, i dont have the 'blender' marker, so i gotta freehand blend it, which is alot like blending graphite.

i used marvy markers too, but for minor things (the graffiti and the outside of the keyhole)

    Welcome to the interweb!

Anyways, like your sketches. You better try do some expressionstudies. Most of your sketches either looks really happy or just very.. plain?
Would be nice to see some more colours too, and perhaps not only coloured "fields" but modeling with colour (defining shapes).

Yeah, don't be discouraged if you don't get many replies, CA has grown very big and small sketchbooks are often outbumped by the postwhoring ones.
Just keep drawing and showing your art and you'll get some comments and some help!

Yeah totally man, don't get discouraged your stuff is really cool and has a really individual style. My fave is your kind of Napolean dynamite character. He's totally got a good vibe around him I'd like to see him in more work.

I'd love to give you some real crit man but all your stuff is very stylistic and so I'm just enjoying it. The photos from your sketch book are well cool.

Got the outline the first day, got late, went home (biggest mistake of my life), went in the NEXT DAY to get the color done to it, which made it 100x worse, wish i did it after the outline when my leg was numb but it was like 1:30AM, so oh well. so more colors comin soon, greys in for a darker shadow, and whatnot, thats it right now, its going down the side of my calf... its greased up... and its swolen like a motherfucker, just got it done yesterday - got a job when i showed him the design, now i make some good dough makin tattoos.

haha no it aint roses, its worst than an outline when you gotta go in for more. Yea, I cant wait til he teaches me how to use the gun, he's teaching me now, but i cant wait to actually tattoo someone, it's gunna be fun as hell. I already have a few of my designs on people, but thats it...

im gunna get the character on the right added to the sleeve, haha, just cause.

some of this stuff is aiite man....

the best thing to do if you want feed back instead of bumping....post new stuff up...bumping is generally not a good idea to get people to leave feedback...it would be considered annoying and avoided even more....

keepin pumping out new stuff and bump with new work...got it?

nice post. the b/w sketches to it the most for me...good line variation and feeling of depth. work on varying angles and expressions of your cartoons and you will be developing a more solid body of work.
