    For You

Since it fits todays celebration of those who love, i thought i might share something i'm currently working on. It a CD cover for a wonderfull band playing balkan-gypsy-dub-punk and are called Cowboys of Prekmur. They asked me to do something fragile, positive and fresh. So i put my zombies, cowboys and spaceships aside and made this.
    Your comments are most welcome.

    Best regards,

    Khan

I think it looks great, love those outlines! perhaps some silhouette in the far background to add more depth?

man, you don't kow how very close to the bubble-gum-pop-psychedelic sixties this is -- the better part of the bubble-gum-pop-psychedelic sixties, i mean very fresh, very vibrant, a celebration of innocence to a degree, nicely done.

the attachment of the kite-tail to her waistband is odd, though, like the kite's pulling her along? similar oddness in the cloud-waistband attachment at the rear. not image-killers, just something to consider.

I too am loving the outlines. I wonder about what some cool patterns/graphics laid in there could add to it?

very cool Khan. I would like to see the outline around the fingers more subtle, right now it's giving her "man hands" : ) Otherwise its very dynamic.

This is excellent.. Really ,really excellent.. Funny that seven mentioned the outline because personally I would give her a stronger outline along with the clouds... Then again im a bit partial to the whole thick touline thing... very good work...

    Dynamite composition, dude.
Violently violet, perfectly playful, what else can I say!
I almost want to see you do more of these in series only in different colour scheme.

Now that I see it, Se7en's comment about them hands seems to be true.
I'm a big fan of outlining myself so I give you cheer for all of these beautiful lines in your piece, I just think her right hand looks slightly thinker than it supposed to be.

You are a talented individual, I trust your judgement.

    Hello fellows,

DARYL: Hi there! Good point! I was actually thinking about it, but to be honest, my goal was to try to make it look like the old frescos of renaissance, where figures blend with the background and merge with environment. But maybe i should really give it a try... Thanks!

whiteeeeeee: Thanks! Oh man, i'm so jealous when i look at your creature-sketches...

goran: Yo! Thanks, will probably have to change it.

masque: Thanks. Your comments always bring smile upon my face. As for the clothes/clouds; i told Deryl already that i tried to make a look of the renaissance frescos, where figures merge with the bgr. But maybe that was a bad idea, i don't know.

Raskolnikov: Many thanks, mate. I'm considering attempt of going back to real paints after i saw some of your recent stuff.

Jon Hodgson: Excellent point! I made them already, but it looked like a bad copy of James Jean really.. So i killed it.

se7en_: Thanks. Ahhh, this hand seems to be a real issue. Must fix it.

vigostar: Hey Vigo! Thanks a lot! I L.O.V.E. outlines. I would put them on everything. And then, i would put another outline over it:)

davekang: Thanks a lot. Your comments make me chuckle:) Many, many thanks again.

I was wondering if i should put a wall texture on it to push that fresco feeling a bit more. What do You think guys, is that a stupid idea?

    Thanks for Your precious feedback,

Hey wassup, I design CD covers too, but much more gritty and dark compared to this, coz for metal bands mostly! I love this, it is indeed vibrant! and Fresh, so spot on with the brief you were set!! My fave colour is pink as well, so maybe I'm a bit biased to this piece!! I love it, really cool.

Raskolnikov: Thank, mate. Big fan of your work, btw.

spudstudios: Thank you very much, it helps a lot to hear that.

Padré: Thanks. Yeah, the figures could have been pushed even more. I'll keep that in mind.

Off the subject, but i strongly feel that i have to say this here.
I'll be working on a big title for PS3.
And i think, most of you guys are the ones to say big thanks for support, tipps and even for all the harsh crits, cause that's what made me progress.

As soon as i'm allowed, i will post some of the works for PS3 here.

    Best regards,

Wow, must be cool to work on a big ps3 title man! sweet!
As for the piece here, I'd totally ditch those rays of light(?). My opinion is that it does not really fit in to the rest of the pic, plus the way they divide to the right of her looks strange. the pic doesn't need it... Other than that I like it alot! Sweet colors.

The stasis of her facial expression should be a look of freedom towards the skies of pink volumized strands of condensed air. The sunlight effect works as an advertising arrangement, while the borders on the top and bottom act as a boundary to the artwork stream. There are locations all around the painting where slight blotches and minimal tufts can be smoothened. Hope any suggestions have helped.

    Keep doing you

Wow, I think this looks great. I love the colors and the energy.
I think the rays of light are ok, but perhaps too uniform...I'd like to see them fade in and out and not be so exact. Also, I'm not crazy about the way they overlay the other elements of the picture...I think it detracts from their strength and is distracting.
This is a really strong piece and I'm really liking it...^^.

Orifice: Yeah man, it's great to know i'll be working on a freakin' PS3 game. Big time. But to be honest, I'M SHIT SCARED! I did work on two games already but this is big, really big... Oh mine...

iatriki: Sorry to hear that. Yeah, it's those graphics, right?

Wenart: Thanks. I actually think it was... ahh crap, you're right:)

    Vulgar: Did indeed! Thanks!

IndigoSummers: Thanks! I see i screwed it up with those graphics a bit but it must somehow fit in the store and stand next to dozens of other CDs which are mostly of pure graphical- or photographical nature.

Funny enough, the client loves it exactly because of it's unorganic look.
Let's see how the artists themself see it..

Again off the subject. Folks, thanks to this particular website and of course people who helped, i'm going to freelance for a phuckin PS3!!!
No matter how often i say it, it still sounds incredible to me...
And in two months, i'll try my luck at Weta Workshop.

    Yipiyahoo!

Best regards and thanks again for your support,

    Khan

In her arm going back there is a small spot that the clouds blend in with her skin tone. It kind-of looks like a broken bone or alien arm at first glance. It's just because it's such a small negative spot but just thought i would point it out. Awesome none-the-less!

Ditch the bars on top and bottom it's screwing up the composition. The top bar is covering her hand and makes everything seem constrained. I do dig the little flowery bits on the lower right that you added in though. Oh, and could you post a larger version for desktop purposes
