Well that time of year again my old sb is pretty much fekked but here im going to start over, an update each day and hopefully an animation a week
Il hopefully be redoing all my work so itl pop up here

A pen biro piece for an assignment i left far too late, will revisit it in a week..

A portrait for another assignment, made entirely in illustrator..

Again, im definately gonna come back and redo it!

This week I shall mostly be doing hands! (no refs for anything, learning preston blare stuff from ground up!)

Cheers Looped Warrior, flash is really fun, but theres apparently another program for doodling animation called easy toon, never used it.
Well, another day another doodle sketcher was fun tonight but I couldnt take part ;(

So instead I spent time designing, making and finishing my logo for my personal promotion/project.

I didnt really get into a groove and it felt like trying to run in waist deep water ;( But I got a cool mix of my intials that i went on to play with...

This is in illustrator, after a while playing, i went and dived into Flash! best couple hours ive spent in a bit, learned loads!

    Final Logo! with added shine!

And heres the flash work.. any crits are most most welcome!
    http://www.kflynn.co.uk/SB/logo.swf

And upto now heres my progress on my personal project, a cool animation!

I apologize for the size ;(

And heres the flash timed animatic
    http://www.kflynn.co.uk/images/animatic.swf

Sorry for the big dump, just keeping things upto date

A poo early morning portrait, I really need to improve ;(

    Yo!
Many thanks for the comment in my sb! I had lots of fun in sketcher, I think it's a great way to meet people.

Good to see you started an sb YOURE AN ANIMATOR!!! Wonderful. I'm hopefully heading in that direction myself. It's great whenevever I come across others interested in this field. I'll have to pick your brain later.

Good start with your sb. all those studies and storyboards are looking cool. You seem a little weak on the observation drawing, so I'd suggest to get lots of practice with that sort of work. It's good for any area of art.

    Be seeing you around.

hehe good to see u posting again. keep at it. work on anatomy and pen control. make it do wat u want, it takes hard work. i used to sit down and only work on making the pen do wat i wanted it to do. still doesnt like me that much, but im getting better. its like practicing anything. work on the basic strokes over and over in a repetitious manner and it will become thoughtless. keep at it. anatomy! check out mentlers thread. peace.

Thats the first walkcycle Ive ever seen that manages to get the feel of "walking on a treadmill". Not sure if you intended that, but the "struggle" to stay in the same spot is deffo there.

You picked one heck of a tricky pose for a SP to start with. :]

If you havent already read it, I would highly recommend The Animator's Survival Guide by Richard Williams.
Judging by the ball animation, your timing needs a bit more work. It looks evenly spaced which makes movements boring. You could add more hang time and more anticipation. Time charts are useful to solve problems about timing. A favourite use of timing is the uses of 3rds which when your motion slows in or out at a third of the way between your key stages (on either side).
I'll also stress the importance of observational studies in animation. This is where you get your research for movements, because if you cant see it or dont understand it you cant animate it.

You drew an assignment in biro? wow that's mad. but great.

^^^ Yes, if you haven't got that book it's only about £12 on amazon... it used to be 25. It is well worth it. I withdrew it from my uni library about 5 times before I bought it.

Greetings from a fellow animator, keep posting!

hello fellow animator. i watched your walk cycle. looks like you got the knee pop due to inverse kinemitis. It is cureable with a little rest and some key framing!

    Keep up the good work!

I should post some Preston Blair draws I did a while back--I remember the hands! You ever visit John Kricfalusi's site and check out his blog? He's got pages from the original Blair book, before copyright forced him to withdraw the Tom and Jerry, Droopy, Bugs and other licensed characters from the first edition.
