Ever since dropping out of Art Center Pasadena and getting my bachelor's degree in Art Institute of Las Vegas, if felt odd that this school didn't focus so much on traditional skills. Regradless still great Teachers and I would have to give credit to Kevin Anderson for setting up this Sketchbook Contest. Enjoy, and please let me know how I am doing. More to com soon.

That hand piece is my favorite.
Considering my countdown to graduation I am already going to miss my friends back in Art Institute. Here are a few I know. BTW the first one is me. People tend to complain howserious I look. 8\

Wanting to fill as much as I can with ideas pouring out, I started throwing sketches closer together and incorporating with one another.
Here I wanted to shoot out a bunch of character designs while it expressed every individual and trait in a chaoticly composed frame.
"The Hand" picture was dope *applauds*

wow, great work! really nice composition, and the patterns you use for borders look really cool!
Here I was experimenting with the idea of thrown together robot. Looked up some designs of art Deco to frame my sketchs and study established artist's solution to various textures.
doobi do?

Thoughts went out to Kung Pao and I felt that I needed a villian in my sketchbook story.

hey Karonno,
nice sketchbook, really creative!keep it up,
cheers,

Hello Karonno.
I see that you are for a longer time
around here, but only lately have you become more
active in your sketchbook posting. First I would
like to mention that you have nice traditional painting
skills.
Post #4; the face and head
digital studies are amazing, and i respect
what you did there.Actually those face paintings
should be utilized on a weekly, if not on a daily
basis. Doing hundreds and thousands of those, makes
one perfect. I am not saying that these are
no good, they are absolutely gorgeous.
Yes, you look serious on that first one, that is
on your avatar, and kinda sad?
Post #6;
I like the chaotically composed ink frame.
I would go and outlined more stronger the characters,
so the viewer could separate them at the first glance.
Outlining makes things flat maybe, but in this case
it would have helped. Studies like this one, also should
be done pretty often, if time admits.
Post #9;
I would like to discuss your comic book attempt
a little more detailed here.
If you ask me, my opinion is that you made a basic
error, by not making enough differences in the look
of your characters. The way that things hangs currently,
is that the reader will not be able to recognize who is who.
You have to focus reeeeaal hard to follow out the characters
and their meaning and part in the global action. It is
a bit strenuous to realize what is really happening.
Or is it just me? The characters should much more
differ from each other, in my opinion.
Their dialogue is unreadable from time to time.
In post 14# and 16#, I think that you have started
to do things better.
Hope that I helped you a bit with my short review,
and that I pointed out some smaller details here and
there. Do not expect too much, I ain't got much experience,
I am displaying only my humble opinion.
Anyway thank you for sharing your work with us,
hope that you will continue with your studies and that
you will post them here so we could discuss them further
together.
I wish you many more happy drawing hours.
See ya.
Thank You Plissken,
Good to see people really taking a hard look at my stuff. I'll Be sure to push on! Here is some more!

I love your sketchbook drawings, they're so detailedd - you can stare at them for a while and still be noticing new little bits to keep interestedit makes me wanna try and learn inks. Do you sketch in pencil first, or just draw straight out in pen?
![]()
Yikes! My bad Plissken i'm usually better at this.
@Dominode I now only start with pencil when I want to portray one big idea, I go straight to pen when I am simply adding on to previous sketches. It helps a lot when you establish generic objects such as the human body formalized by past structualists since the Renaissance artists. This makes observational drawing very useful so you have a stronger mental library at hand. For example a child may only draw a stick and what looks like a thought bubble and call it a tree. But once that child starts observing and following the shape of an actual tree, a new symbol of a tree emerges to that individual.
P.S. Does anyone know how to have your CA account notify your current email of updates? If that's even an option.I embarrassingly lose track of my threads and coversation very easily, not aware that people are actaully continuing their conversation with me.

Hey, thanks for replying to my SB(and apologies for the late reply!)
Some pretty cool personality that's gone into your last post, and I particularly like those head studies in post #4 - it would be cool to see more of the as they will ultimately be beneficial to your comic stuff.
Keep going man!
so graduated for Game art design, but still ending up with Illustrator/draftsman work. Cant complain. So Today I have

cool stuff in here man, i really like the top painting, and the loads of sketches throughout here. you have a really cool imagination, and i think with a bit more study of human anatomy, and getting some more naturalism into those poses youd have alot more impact, but your on the right track. keep it up man!

Also this week In TAD Figure Drawing 1 I got into doing master studies, one of which had Mark English's Demos and Lectures. Got me really into trying out different brushs.

Nice start to the SB man, looks like you send quite a bit of time on these imaginative sketches and comics spending a couple of hours a day studying human form can only improve your drawings, you've got a lot going on in that head of yours. Keep it up will check back soon
