    ROUND COMMENTS:
    I love this round!
Sorry for the ones left out - RULES are rules.. and ..
i bent a bit the rule of the filename - i have a script here.. in my head - this time... you can tell who's been bad.

    Here is Marco's selection.

    Out:
mrgrumble - Damn, I really liked where you were going with this. If that killer linework showed through, you'de have a winner for sure!
Iokanaan - We need to see more than just a contour
calebgresham - Needs more definition of the forms. Funny concept though.
Whiteboy - Pencil entries are fine, but they still need to be finished
TroyWilkerson - Still a WIP, but there's a lot of potential in those lines
Howie - Some interesting shapes in there, but it's clearly unfinished
Ifman1 - The value and color is too rough. There is definately improvement, but you still need to work on describing the form.

    Close Calls:
KaWaii - The colors are nice, but I have a hard time reading the image. Every shape is rendered out with the same value range.
DECYPL - The form is too flat and the brushwork for the spores(?) is too static, but the design is still interesting and it's well presented.
DnC - Watch out that the tone and color is not so static throughout, it severely flattens the form.

Guess I won't be making many friends this round.

    Oblio goes on:

yeah - not a friendly round - despite GREAT entries.

YOUR NICKNAMES were not found in the filename - hence the mess at the poll.

I also added the last entry - as it was missed by Marco

Thank you all for being into this.

DON'T FORGET YOUR PRIZE! THE WINNER OF THIS ROUND WILL SELECT THE TOPIC OF THE NEXT ONE!

And will assist me in selecting the entries for the poll. In one week we'll have a new client.Vote him now

And here we go.... another flick of the pen for Andrew Ley... brigs him another victory in the CHOW land.
Oh boy. i have to count them... we might have another top dog in the CHOWSCARS.
As soon as i free some time... i'll fix that ladder.
Now.. mr. Andrew Ley.. give us a topic.

    FINAL

    Nano the Nanotech Gardener:

Year unknown, after many attempts humans have finally created the first nano-garden and it's gardener (accidentally). The dream to become a god has almost come true.

The living creature is a crossing between human and flower and is supported by a mechanical suit. The nano-tech gardener is named "Nano".

During the first few months Nano was trying to understand it's surroundings and understood she was all alone in the world. Even though it cared for the the garden, it seems very bored...

Even now, all attempts to create more creatures like Nano failed.

WIP of my my first CHOW. I misinterpreted the subject as being 'high-tech' gardner. well, if we all consider this character to be very, very tiny, it won't be a problem, will it?

next step: adding detail, colour and atmosphere.

Here's a wip of sorts. I have a feeling I'm going to shift gears with it though... or not... who knows.

Edit: Replacement wip. Scientist chicks in labs wearing the equivalent to a ribbed body condom = sterile enviornment. But fertile for plants!

A wip for you'se (he will be moved to fit in the picture better, I promise)

UPDATE the 3rd: Done and Dusted (ish)(the background is a bit of a hackjob...)

The series of Nano-Gardeners were created in the 22nd century to tend to the earths dwindling areas of natural growth. They were created with the introduction of microscopic bio-technological nano-bots into organic human tissue. Each nano-gardener grows independently and can develop a variety of attributes, though each has in common the mixture of human and plant life. Each gardener is then supplemented by a custom built mechanical carapace, usually displaying an aesthetic theme, from plants to animals.
The nano-gardener pictured is responsible for the upkeep of the European National Park in Italy, and has been crafted with a floating body to house its roots, which it has in place of lower limbs. Its mechanics have been given the appearance of insects by the designers in question, presumably because there are a lot of insects in this particular Gardeners domain.

This one sounds nifty indeed. Kinda late in the game--

Human structure as a garden, as a tree. This is my concept...I wondering about a human tree, a nearly future, a nice joke of science.

I strayed from the topic a bit, I guess, but it was still fun.

Theodore Folager's life work was as a very successful scientist and engineer. Now retired, he spends his time in gardening. He has thusfar managed to cause his plantlife to bear light bulbs instead of blossoms. He has hopes of creating a means of keeping an electrical currents flowing through the plant to light the bulbs, that is, without the plant bursting into flames.
    Ars longa, vita brevis.

Andrewley: you have my vote. You have the coolest costume design I've seen in a while. Great job. How did you manage to get such good line work? My line work suffers horribly in photoshop.

Stokes: Wonderful combosition. Your my second favorite. The colors and brush-work serve eachother greatly. Awsome job!

Number 9: Your color palettes tight. I also like your character. He kinda looks like my science professor.

oooh cute. My little bunny foo foo made it to the poll. Thanks! Wasn't sure my syrupy sweetness would make the cut.

I voted for the incredible AndrewLey and his amazing unfinished entry that makes me not want to finish anything. I think it has a strange Dune sort of feel to it which gives me all the more reason to vote for it.
