Epoxy Slug. Two tubules on the slugs back end secrete resin and hardner separately. Two long pedipalps mix the two together. As it hardens, bugs, and leaves and crap get stuck in in the glue. It hardens, and sixty minutes later the slug circles back around and feasts on what he's caught.

This is sort of inspired by every attempt I've made to spray paint or lacquer or polyurethane something outside for ventilation. Its almost impossible not to catch bugs that way... the two part glue is so it doesnt cure inside the slug of course...

Stripped Slimander (Cryptobranchus Stickius)
This amphibian has a unique way of both getting around and repelling enemies.
White milky secretions from its suction cup like feet act as a glue, enabling the Slimander to climb both vertical surfaces, and to hang upside down without ever loosing its grip.
Secretions left behind from either its foot prints, or sloughed off its body will harden within minutes creating a bond that engineers liken to regular epoxies. However the Slimander never gets stuck and in fact uses its extremities to rub this “glue” over its body keeping enemies from making a meal out of them. No one wants to have permanent lockjaw after squishing around one of these in your molars. Scientific studies continue in both the glue like nature, and the resistance the creature has to its own secretions.

So, i'm going to try and enter C.O.W every week from now I think. Start as you mean to go on and all that.
This week's is a particularly oozy one.

The glue maker is an insect that wishes it were an invertebrate. It has developed incredibly strong muscles along its side which it uses to drag itself around like a slug, its legs now used more as mandibles than apendages to move with. It secretes an incredibly sticky mucus from the nodules lined along its spine, has a teeth filled maw on its underbelly and next to no appreciable vision.
The glue maker is usually found in caves or any other dark, damp place with a roof. When first arriving at a suitable hunting spot the glue maker covers its body in its gloop and uses the adhesive qualities to climb the walls and attach itself to the ceiling. It does this by hooking its claw like legs through the thick, viscous ooze and suspending itself as on a trapeze. Once it is secured the glue maker begins excreting a prodigious amout of mucus which forms a large puddle beneath it. When an unlucky creature happens to wander into the glue puddle the glue maker is alerted to its presence by its long dangling antenae which sense the hapless victims struggles. The glue maker then unhooks its claws and, in a surprising show of agility, flips in the air to land on its lunch. The whole process is then repeated ad infinitum.

Yea, Im with ikuru. There will be glue shooting out of every orifice imaginable...I think epoxy launching anus blasters are the least of our worries. So many other...holes...to work with...shudder.

anyway, i think im going to do this one in pencil while i brush up my skills in photoshop. I appreciate actually gettign comments in the voting thread. I prolly just gotta digitally paint from photographs for a while. Sucks also that i have a 4x6 tablet. >.<
SO....

And guess what? he doesnt shit it out! the bubbly organs on top of his head make it and he secretes it on the ground where he walks (like a slug) to leave traps for his prey. carnivorous.

<image removed> cheese!...i like the designs coming in at the moment, looking realy good. should be good comp this time. i had 2 hours to do the c.o.w#76 because i only saw the topic post 2 hours or so before deadline so had to think up design, sketch scann, open, colour scheme, paint...lol im totaly ashamed now of how it came out realy very......under average.

thanks to fozzybar for not entering it into the vote lol, everyone else wud have like 5 upwards and me there with 0..hehe lol thnks fozz

here's an opinion, avoid using lens flare, and if you have to make sure no one know you used it.

Its better to understand how to paint light and shadow with color values etc.

HMMMM i agree lol lens flare..too much but ive gone past too much to ..undo ..undo ..undo..undo lol, here is a dimmed down, updated verison, much glueeeyy-er..but looks a bit ELECTRIC lol

i realise still very bright but i did half of the painting with vivid light setting on..grr so hard to dull down without blocking out image completley..-ish.
