    Post Dextermcspice_Sketchbook

Thought I should start a sketch book to get myself practicing more regularly.
Here is a self portrait I did from a mirror and a life drawing piece.

nice rendering style, would like to see some more....

i´m not quite sure, but maybe the second one could use more value difference, especially that area around the arm and chest.....

    keep em coming

I agree! I'd love to see some more. the chin seems to be a bit offcentered in the self portrait, but I really love the shading. The life drawing is very good as well.

Welocme to CA ma. Great rendering with colors and pencil. SP is cool, and the life drawing, how long did it take to finish.

Really liking the traditional pieces here, especially the two in the first post. The highlights on the nude really set it off.

Your digitals are good too, but it kind of seems to me you haven't found your groove yet. If I were you I'd try going over the pics with a thinner pressure controlled diameter brush. With your traditional skills you should be able to give your digital work a nice edge that way.

Really nice life-drawings. You've definitely been able to keep the movement despite it being a sustained pose. So awesome work with that.

Your portrait is really nice to... i like how you don't over-render anything. Great.

great figure studies. it's always good to lay a solid foundation, so the old fashioned thing is going to help you a lot. having said that, lets see your more imaginative work, got any more digital stuff to share? Keep it up.

Your eyes are crooked in the self portrait But I like the colors you used. Your figure drawings are really nice too. Horray.

Is your icon a sculpture you did? I'd love to see it biggg

Here is my first serious attempt at oils, it's 36"-24". This is a poor picture the colors are actually much lighter.

Nice nature studies. What a relief to see something that doesn't carry a ten ton cannon or is busy tearing humans apart on this forum : )

Love this sketchbook! Your traditional works are really nice. The first life drawing piece shows a lot of emotion. Please update more.
