Thought I should start a sketch book to get myself practicing more regularly.
Here is a self portrait I did from a mirror and a life drawing piece.

nice rendering style, would like to see some more....
i´m not quite sure, but maybe the second one could use more value difference, especially that area around the arm and chest.....
keep em coming
I agree! I'd love to see some more. the chin seems to be a bit offcentered in the self portrait, but I really love the shading. The life drawing is very good as well.
Thanks guys the portrait was about 2 hours and the life drawing was a 45min pose. Heres some digital stuff.

I have been trying to do a few hours a night of photoshop and sculpting, here is something from last night.
some of last nights
C&C always welcome
Really liking the traditional pieces here, especially the two in the first post. The highlights on the nude really set it off.
Your digitals are good too, but it kind of seems to me you haven't found your groove yet. If I were you I'd try going over the pics with a thinner pressure controlled diameter brush. With your traditional skills you should be able to give your digital work a nice edge that way.

Es läuft mir aus den Ohren, Herz und Nieren sind Motoren

Really nice life-drawings. You've definitely been able to keep the movement despite it being a sustained pose. So awesome work with that.
Your portrait is really nice to... i like how you don't over-render anything. Great.
Thanks guys, here is a hand I did waiting for the bus, and two from life drawing where I started to play around with them in the end making them look robotic.
something from last nights life drawing.
some of my new life drawing, been working on my sculpting a lot as of late.
-Thanks for looking
nice! The robot bodies on the figures are cool.
a little old fashion but cool![]()
great figure studies. it's always good to lay a solid foundation, so the old fashioned thing is going to help you a lot. having said that, lets see your more imaginative work, got any more digital stuff to share? Keep it up.

Been trying out pastels the past few days, there alot of fun.
Tried some ink and canvas at life drawing.
Here is my first serious attempt at oils, it's 36"-24". This is a poor picture the colors are actually much lighter.
your ink drawing is great. you have a really soft hand when it comes to your life drawings, very sensitive i like it
Thanks eskanto. I got a new sketchbook this week.
Nice nature studies. What a relief to see something that doesn't carry a ten ton cannon or is busy tearing humans apart on this forum : )
Love this sketchbook! Your traditional works are really nice. The first life drawing piece shows a lot of emotion. Please update more.![]()
Thank you so much, life drawing just started up for this year so I'm happy about that. I have been studying Bridgman here are some from my sketch book.
Thanks for looking
