You have tons of movement and fluid lines in your sketch work but your more finished pieces all seem to be symmetrical (at least in the pages I browsed through so far) I'd really like to see you colour and develop one of your more energised sketches.

    General woo yay!

Knoxie.....Hey thanks a lot! You got some great stuff on your SB too!

Feral Friend....Thanks Man! Yeah some of my latest pieces are too symmetrical.

So here is some new sketches and wips. I had some serious thinking the last weeks about what i really want to do and where to go with my art. I realized that my portfolio has probably too much of everything.
And after TAD introduction and listening to an interview with daarken on the Crimson Daggers life stream, i found out that my dream job would be in fantasy illustration, and i'm aware that most of my previous work don't go in this direction.
So i'm trying to concentrate on producing some high quality stuff in this area that represents my current skill level. And maybe get me some jobs at wizards of the coast and Fantasy Flight Games, that would be most awesome!!!..hehe!!

This stuff is all from imagination but i probably need to use some ref for some
parts. I have two versions for this guy with the crazy had but I don't know if
i should take the swordsmen further or the magic guy...I'm glad for any suggestions and crits

looking sweet! Im shooting for the same field myself, just be wary of just how much you custom tailor your portfolio to these companies lest you lose some of your originality. But Im sure youll ace it no sweat!

Thanks a lot SmokenMirrors, I see your point about loosing a bit of your own style while being influenced of what you think an art director of WOTC or similar might wanna see. I hope i can handle this and thanks for your support !!

Worked just a bit more on the last piece, i hope that i have more time in the next days to get her finished.

    cout<mecha.....thanks a lot!

LOBO....haha, that's awesome! now magic dog is even in my computer...actually i think magic dog is barking outside right now, i guess he is mad because we haven't made a color chart today...hehe. and Dude the Disney Video is insane....well i guess it saved them a lot of work.

sadly, nothing much to show, i took the piece frome above in a complete different direction...but everything except the face is pretty rough. I'm finally starting to get really into learning anatomy, so i hope i'm able to show some results soon..

Delmar, I don't know why you aren't posting more often, but you should. You just single-handedly rekindled my love affair with art. I only wish that my finished works looked as good as your thumbnails do.

Ok here we go!! ....long time no see. But now it's time to get things going again.

drummingpariah...thanks a lot man, really appreciate it! Honestly, trying to keep the energy from the thumbnails in my finished work is the hardest part for me .

    Boojeah....thanks man !

However, though i was quite passive posting i havn't stop drawing. I also attended the "Behind the Iron Curtain" Event in Romania....that was just awesome...Made a lot of friends, listened and talked to Mark Goerner, Kekai Kotaki the guys from steambot studios...and more (..delicious).

And here comes the art dump. the black and white characters and thumbs are mostly done in Alchemy about 5 to 20 min. I love alchemy, i don't know why i didn't try it earlier.

The first batch are commissioned pieces....and my first environment attempts since i don't know when, but i have to say i really like doing them. I'm still struggling when it comes to mood and colorpalettes, a lot more studies will be inevitable...

    enough talk!

Also iv noticed you dont always highlighting objects that have light shining behind or on them( an example would be the skin between ur fingers when held up to the light or having some light flaring off metal and or the edges of someones body) apart from that damn fine stuff

    Hey Delmar,

Thanks for the comment. I'm definitely going to check out that book. I've been browsing through your sketchbook, your stuff is amazing. I love the gesture and silhouette of all your figures. Do you work from reference usually or your imagination? Anyway, great stuff, you rock!

your 3/4 character portraits + enviros are my favourite, plenty of character and charm. Keep up the good work, I'll be back!

    Thanks a lot guys!!

sean0131: Usually it's all from mind.....but you can be a lot faster and more efficient if you use reference right.

I took one of the character sketches a bit further today and i thought i post it before i go to bed, still..it needs some finishing touches......cheers!

Not sure I can crit on much, other than keeping up with the tone and color stuff to strengthen it.. which you would probably have done anyway lol.

For the most part I just like looking at everything, and I love those blue pencil sketches above!! Im a sucker for sketches like that. Ill be back for more
