man, It's so...open! This has got to be where I struggle the most and why I decided to enter these competitions. I've never been strong in concept art (as noted in my last entry) and the talent pool here is vast and deep. I'm going to need 75 Tons of inspiration...feel free to donate some of yours at the next charity drive...

I googled "75 tons" to get an idea of what it looked like. Its not as big as I thought. The pillars in front of a museum weighed 75 tons. A walkway bridge over a highway weighed 75 tons... And Grey Hulk can lift 75 tons.

'course the aforementioned examples are steel and metal, but I was surprised.

75 tons is pretty big actually....

    here's a few examples:

    tidal giant

    http://www.hws.edu/news/update/showw...?webclipid=172

    Brachiosaurus

Typified by this Brachiosaurus, these largest of sauropods had serrated, chopping teeth and front legs longer than the rear ones, to raise the body up to crop the tops of trees. A Brachiosaurus was 75 feet long and 40 feet tall (the shoulders were 20 feet off the ground!), weighing an incredible 89 tons (more than 12 African bull elephants or three thousand students). The neck was 32 feet long!

Tyranx--when I see this topic I immediately thought of your MOVER, but it's more like a 750. FYI: more recent weight estimates on brachiosaurus is between 30-40 tons, the tidal giant is a little longer, but much more bulky.

Dragonbane was created by the Demon Lord Grishnaahk to destroy the Great Dragoness, Kachina, that banished him to hell for a thousand years. Grishnaahk enslaved an ancient dragon of the lower planes and set to work warping, twisting and growing its powerful body into his engine of destruction. Fusing the bones and scales and muscles into a hardened being of fully 75 tons. With his massive forelimbs, tapering to points of diamondine hardness, Dragonbane strikes rapid powerful blows to anything that crosses his path. Blind and deaf from the change to his being, Dragonbane yet has incredible senses. He "feels" the vibrations eminated by the molecules of all things around him. Every step he takes paints a map of counter resonance, showing him minute details and structural weaknesses. If a creature he strikes is not immediately dead from the multi-ton blow, Dragonbane can strike with a rythm that will amplify the counter resonance and begin actually disintegrating bones and shells and even the adamantine hard scales of a Great Dragon.

Tentative final -still willing to work on it! feedback welcome, crits welcome...Let me know what will make this ROCK!

It was only through the grace of the Lady that the beasts' earthshattering blow missed me! Luckily it seemed to have no further interest in me, rather it appeared to be on the hunt for something else. It paused for a moment with its head cocked as if listening to a far off sound then continued on its course eastwards. I made all haste to leave these wastelands and return to the tower...

The name should be "the biggest fucker ever"! it's sad if we have to start to scale things down in to some half arsed dinosaur or some small bridge, I wanted to make some freespirit earthdestroying meanmontherfuck Godzila fucker that looks too big for hi's own good. Still, this will be one of the best themes in a long time! Lets sit back and njoy the show...

Well, Ikuru, as the age old question goes... which is heavier, a pound of feathers or a pound of lead?

There's no reason any of the critters have to be dinosaur sized. They could be filled with 74 tons of helium with one ton of flesh around it...

I was also thinking one could design something that could lift 75 tons....

When your going by organic matiuerial 75 tons can be quite large, especially if the creature weighs 75 tons but is light overall cauase its as big a football stadium, it will be interesting enough just to see the explanations that come by for the creature being 75 tons!

I'll have to give this a go, try to get back into these things.

Err, Supervlieg Metric tonnes are short tons just depends on the country, there are shorter tons though, I'd go Imperial get the extra 16 and a bit kilos.

    Finished.
    COW 75, "Mega Beast"
"Mega Beasts" are among the largest land animals. They grow to a height between 30 to 40 feet tall, and weighs in at 58 to 90 tons, though most individuals grow to about 75 tons.

During the wet season, mega beasts move to inland plains where they feed on juicy roots of plants. They use their big horn to dig up the plants then grap food with their extremely long tongues. When the dry season comes, they migrate toward the coast where food is more abundant and the climate more pleasant.

fozz-small images are just to illustrate my concept.

or for that matter you could have a creature fullof uranium where a ton is much smaller in over all circumference

since helium is lighter than air weight becomes problamatical.. I suspect Foz meant Mass which is the same no matter what the exterior environment. you can't weigh helium on earth.. the weight is a negative number.

    just thinking outloud here
my next goal is a vote... one ( my last was being taken to poll) one confused person who actually likes mine best.....

Tom - hehe, don't worry about me... I'm just a tiny peace loving ongutan...
longshao - yeah hehe, that sucker was huge. nice critter btw and grats on your star!

Chaos - you bring up a good point... what weighs 75 tons on earth, weighs 1/6th on the moon.

Sooooo I can make a beastie that weighs 450 tons on earth and just plop it on a moon sized planet and WHAM! 75 tons
