    Grey Alien concept (ink)

My latest pen and ink image. I intend to use it as a base for colourisation in Photoshop.

    Thanks for looking!

wow, it must have been a real struggle to shade him usin all those dots. I like the contrast of the piece - it gives the alien + his background some depth. But the alien pose looks stiff and boring. You depicted him nearly frontally, and the "camera" is the lightsource at the same time...still - it definately got something. The longer I'm lookin in his eyes the more empty, calm and neutral I feel. Hard to crit for I dunno what style you were goin, and what purpose it is made for.

i think that any photoshopping whatsoever would ruin the wonderful ink rendering. i say its finalized enough as is.

    what nuki said.

good inking technique exercise...color in PS could be added on a multiply layer without hiding the inks...

    ciao

    Thanks for the feedback guys.
TheGnoll - I'm going to do as you suggested so the ink isn't hidden. I went to start it today but practised on an older piece instead (a bit mixed up I know)
