Toshop sucks abit at mixing colors but i suck a bit at using Painter so...

Nice ones Davi, that self-portrait looks pretty interesting.

As far as these flaming head guys go... the guy in the foreground has a really dead look in his eyes. The guy in the very back makes me laugh when I see him lol. I don't know about everyone else, but my eye gets dragged straight to the second one, which his proportions unfortunately look kind of alien.

I have been busy lately due to some freelance work and downloading the SPORE creature creator... I'll be sure to post my favorite creatures from that in here later.

But Mike Corriero and I had the idea of doing a painting out of a creature each other made in spore.

Fucking awesome bro.. Love the colors and the various changes made. As mentioned, I'd love to see some of those beautiful colors on the ground hinted in the black portion of the creatures body (like gasoline/rainbow)...

thanks, There's a major problem with me on the back leg and i don't know how to fix it. It's not anatomy, its not placement.. It's standing out in a way i don't want. I don't know if i need to pull it out from the background more to get what i want or push it even further back. I've been been good with painting things in a "subtle" manner...

I really like that final image. I'm just not so sure of the background around the rear leg. the shadows on the ground behind the leg seem to make it look a bit flat. I think the values in the background behind that rear leg are too light as well. It really does look fantastic though. love the colours.

thanks guys, ill be putting that leg crit into action, I'm sure there are other ways i could of handled the back leg by removing other ways of focus.


I've been a bit out of my art groove, this was an attempt in getting back into it with a slightly different method of painting.... Not my favorite piece, but sometimes the ones I don't like the most are the ones others do... so, i might aswell post it instead of leaving it rot :p



dunno, maybe i just burnout on working the details and wanted to play around with something more "loose".

Hey davi. David's always told me to break my drawings... really push the pose to something you wouldn't normally do.. I think you might be familiar with Feerik's work? I'd say take a gander at his stuff and really try pushing this last one, as it feels a bit stiff. The one above is pretty cool though. You put quite a bit of thought into the armor, and it looks very intelligently designed relative to.. well, most of the stuff around here. If you've got some free time I'd love to thunderdome you, a nice friendly scrimmage or something. btw... 5 stars... 4 stars is injustice.

Man, I love that fish guy up there... that definitely gets saved into the art folder lol. The coloring style is really cool, it almost has a video game concept art look.
Hope you get through your slump... because if you haven't noticed already, your art is amazing lol.
