Icon Zombie_dla's Sketchbook (I'm back! Update November 2nd)

Hi everyone, I'm a long time lurker here at conceptart who finally gathered enough courage to post. Here I'm starting a sketchbook to encourage myself to draw regulary and improve my technique. I should be able to update atleast once in a week or so. Critiques are welcome!

Welcome to CA, looks like you have a good stand on your anatomy, so no recommendations for books. Thses look great, just keep studying those books you already have. You've got a nice comic style from what I see, would like to see some fully rendered pics, cant wait for more. Keep posting.

    My Sketchbook- C&C very welcome

nice stuff. here there I can see tht you are a bit harsh with the pencil (like around the lips of the chainsaw guy), but I am seeing that you are doing good anatomy and especially hands (awesome hands ). continue doing your stuff and practice! woot!

Thanks everyone for your comments. It keeps me drawing and helps me improve. Sorry cherryworx for not posting any action scenes this time Guess I'm just not confident enough. But all things come to he who waits

Here's a study on the female torso (I'm not very experienced at drawing dames) and an undead SS-officer

Keep going with the studies, they'll help you a lot more in the long run than doing stuff of the top of your head.

The hand and torso studies are coming along really nicely though.

I havn't been able to draw anything satisfying lately. I havn't had much motivation or energy and my content for drawing is waning. I will keep on drawing and hope that the motivation soon will return Here's some quick studies.

You have a pretty good sense of dynamic action, and a better understanding of small detail than me!

Keep up the studies and don't let artists block leave your paper blank!

Its a good thing u have started with anatomy studies!
But i think u need to concentrate more on the constructive aspect of the body forst of all.Even though it is "boring" once u have mastered that u can concentrate on more fun stuff!
These sketches show that u have a good eye for drawing muscles tho!
    Keep up the drawing

Today I really tried to do some anatomy studies on various body parts (drawing the skeleton, muscles etc.) but they turned out really bad. Guess I'll try those "boring things" some other time Eh... here's som heads.

Haha, I love that giant bunny.

It's awesome that you do this many studies, but as alert said, you should focus a bit more on the constructive aspect. You seem to have some trouble with joints. Like the hips and shoulders.

But keep working. It's clear that you have a lot of potential.

Thanks for your comment, Hai. I'll always thought my joints looked kind of wierd but I never really thought about it for to long. Thanks for pointing it out! I drew some shoulders today and some muscles.

I know it's not exactly the most important part of the human body, I'd be interested in seeing you try some hair studies.

Ok, I haven't posted in a while now, sorry about that. I'll try harder from now on

Andre3es - I always had trouble with hair so I definately need to do some hair studies but right now I feel I need to concentrate on the human body. I'll try some hair soon though

These studies are well drawn. I'd say focus more on how the muscles connect together and flow as a mass of shapes rather then worrying so much about every little bump or divot.

ya know big b4 small, vague b4 descriptive, loose b4 tight etc. etc.

Thanks for checking out my sketchbook! L:ike already mentioned, you've got a good intial grasp of poses. Try and keep your pencil marks to one single line, as Marko says...if you learn to draw with a single line you will learn more from the process than using lots of lines. This method forces you to study the chosen area harder. Thanks and keep posting!
