Such an unusual shading style in some of those live figure drawings but you really make it work. Wicked Sketchbook!

Your linear drawings are of great inspiration to me.
The way you define shadows just by the thickness of the lines. Really learned alot from your artwork.

I absolutely love your self portraits, sensitive. And the digital practice from stills are beyond cool. Lovely skulls. Your skill is massive. I envy your place right now in school. Having the goals motivates the studies. Get as much of it as you can. Your talent is a category 5 storm. No stopping it.

Very beautifull book. Love everything and am especially drawn to your character work. I'm eyeing the animation field and feel like I'm learning for coming here both in content and presentation. Hope you don't mind that I saved some of your layouts. Great Stuff. Good Luck in '09.

PROPS on those figures, I have seen so many trained eyes draw beautiful figures, but these studies brought something new to my eyes. My virgin eyes!

Your B&Ws and colored digi paintings look very realistic, so, like so many other times before, I tried it myself and realized once again how much I have left to learn. Haha!...

    Anyway, you are awesome.

I love how solid and volumetric you draw! It's one of my weaker areas and anyone who owns it like you're doing is an enviable trait.

Ah, geez. I came here off ccsears' praise of your pen sketches, and I find a bunch of amazing paintings. Ha!

I really appreciate your brushwork. Super super stuff.

EDIT: I went back and looked at some of your sketches. You don't happen to study at the AAU in San Francisco, do you? Or in that area somewhere? I thought I recognized some of the models from Henry Yan/Zhaoming Wu/Kevin Chen's figure work.

    wow man wow

im guessing those sketchbook pages are pencil, but they look kinda like pen?
anyways, nice studies, the "tilting the book to draw them from different angles" sounds like a good idea.

    lovin it hmm hmm

    long post

I tried the "thanks" button, but it doesn't feel right

just clicking a button to say thanks for comments. Long

over due replies, some might never even read them, but

    here you go:

    DanielC: Thanks

    The Pariano: Thank you.

    Bhanu: Thanks.

Coinpurse: Thanks for the kind words.

    Iolarnula: Thank you.

    MeTaL-Mike: Thanks!

Juczpen: I don't think great is the word, but thanks

    ccsears: Thanks man!

    Gloominati: Nah, just practicing

    Wanimal:Thank you.

    Porg: Thanks!

Kischi: Thanks. Doesn't have to be school homework. I

know it's hard to find extra time, but practice is

    worth it.

    Davekang: Thanks!

AndreasM: Hahaha, thanks for the comment

Zhonked: Thanks. I'll see about the job hunt soon

    enough.

    NadiaMoon: Thanks Nadia!

krytos: Thank you. Actually, our semesters are 15

    weeks.

D@niel: Thanks, and I hope that's the case.

    Aivy: Thanks!

    Iddi: Thank you.

Animosapian: Thanks, and sorry for the late reply.

    JesArt: Thank you.

    Kristo Novo: Thanks.

    Monsi: THanks!

    sfa: Thank you!

    Mischeviouslittleelf: Thanks!!

Chupacabra: Thanks for the kind words! I saw the

article on you in ImagineFX. Glad your doing well.

dCepT: Awww shucks, thanks for the props.

    Fshoo: Thanks!

Mr. Delicious: It's funny you mention that theme,

because it has a totally different connotation with my

    friends I'm honored tho!

    cakeypigdog: Thanks!

    LEEBLEEB: Thank you.

    Doudou: Thanks.

space-sprayer: Thanks, and glad you got something out

    of the stuff.

    Hunchback: Thank you.

Selfu: Now I feel really bad for the late reply.

    Thanks!!

astroCrud: Thanks, and I wish I could fly!!!!!

Eon: Thanks! I don't know if it's and unusual shading

style. Sergio Toppi and early Berni Wrightson stuff

have that shading going on. People always ask if I'm

influenced by them, and sadly I have to say no. I think

it stemmed from just doodling different textures. If I

had seen their stuff earlier, I'd probably be a better

    artist.

cgfelker: Thanks. Wait till I post some sketches from

when I started art school. It makes me laugh

lowercase: Thanks, still working on it tho.

    AztcFireFlower: THANK YOU!!!!!!!!

Bill: Thanks, and glad to help.

    enthombed: Thank you.

    Defiled: Thank you.

Christoffer: We all have alot to learn... that's the

    fun part.

    Kim Bot: Thanks!

    Wondergod: Thank you.

Ionic: Thanks! I've seen what's out there, skillwise,

    and it scares me.

    t11: Thanks.

    HeroGear: Thank You!

WhiteC: Thanks. I should be working harder tho!

Statipen: Thank you and yes, I'm still at AAU till May.

    kyomart: Thank you.

    Dolgopolov: THanks.

Hunchback: all pen. Ballpoint gives a nice line

    variation.

    Josef K.: THank you.

    dTb: Thanks!

Here's some sketchbook studies, doodles, and flikr/movie digital studies (3:10 to Yuma, 300, and Illusionist). Thanks for checking it out.
