new here, and to open canvas as well ;O

Allright well there's a guy that just posted his first topic so I guess i'll post mine as well ;O

A few hours ago I downloaded open canvas to try my hand at digital painting again. I mean the only program I have any experience with is flash which i'm sure everyone knows is more suited for animation rather than well, whatever it is i'm trying to do here.

I dont know, I guess i'm mainly concerned with realizing the sharpness people have in thier artwork but then again maybe I just have to keep on layering :3

Mortal words cant express how open I am to any comments or criticism ;D.

You do, in fact need to layer more. You need to cover whole areas with color, then take your next color and paint over that. Right now there are white areas between all your different colors and around your linework and it's really detracting from the coloring.

If you want crits on just the coloring, that would be my main thing. If you want crits on the rest, I'll gladly give those too.

    thanks steve! ;O

Ill block in the color Whalen thanks, and if anything else about the picture in general seems awkward please let me know ;D

My perspective is that there's something I dont like about his arm, and I think his neck fattened after painting over it again and again i'll go consult my lineart.
