Quick question please, need help quick

Everytime i use the eyedropper sampler thing (holding alt while using the airbrush then grabbing a color off the canvas) It recently started grabbing the color as a background color instead of a foreground color. So now every time i try and grab a color i have to hit "x" to switch foreground/background colors and it's really screwing up my workflow, and i don't know how to fix it and i know it's just some stupid hotkey i dont know about. please help. i don't want to have to uninstall and reinstall photoshop just to fix this.

Hmmmm....tried to duplicate that problem, but I couldn't. SORRY! All I came up with is the fact that when you hold down ALT while using the Eyedropper, you pick up the BG color instead of the foreground. It shouldn't do that when holding down ALT on the paintbrush.

Anyone else got any bright ideas??

try going thru your quick commands to make sure everything looks right...(?)

it depends on which mode you are on while using the Alt btn. When you are in the brush mode and then click alt to select your color then the selected color becomes your foreground color, but, when you have chosen eyedropper tool and do the Alt selecting color thing then it becomes the background color.

I just had this problem too. The only way I know to fix it is to reset your PS preferences, which is kind of a pain, but better that reinstalling. http://graphicssoft.about.com/cs/pho...trashprefs.htm has instructions.

Hit F6 to bring up the Color palette. Make sure the foreground color square in the palette (not in the toolbox) is selected, not the background color square.
