Excellent! You have your perspective down.

Love the ones in blue ink. So much patience and not much room for mistakes.

    Keep it up!

Fantastic work! Really love the house in blue ink!

Only critique is to make the images smaller! Haha.

Awesome work and Welcome to CA!

    Amazing perspectives
To change image size: resize them in Photoshop and then upload them again...

panda -- i used the pilot hi-tec-C for these; it's my new favorite pen. it's got a really nice, smooth feel to it; you don't have to use a lot of pressure to get a line. and, the hi-tec-C has got really fine nib sizes, too. you can get in lots of detail when working small.

imageproof -- thanks for the advice on resizing; i'll tackle that today when i get a break from work.

again, thanks for the kind words, all.

Glad to see you're still plugging away. Really liking those rocks in the last sketch.

What classes are you taking at Watts this term?

BTW, we actually had a couple of sketch meets in OC! Amazing, I know. Hopefully we'll have some more. Keep an eye on the OC thread.

thanks! perspective had really been something i was struggling with, so it's nice to get good feedback on it.

this term, i'm just taking the head/figure/quicksketch on tues. nights. you taking anything down there at the moment?

sketch meets? in OC? *falls down from the shock* sweet. i'll definitely keep an eye on the OC thread so i can go to the next one.

    head/figure/quicksketch drawings

sok, ian, panda -- thanks, all.

i use a conte charcoal pencil (black outside with gold band on the barrel), usually B or HB instead of the 2B recommended one, as i tend to go really dark much sooner than i probably should; the harder lead keeps me from doing that as easily. i have a really heavy hand.

here's the latest drawings from the head/figure/quicksketch class. not as many as i'd have liked, since i've been sick the last two weeks. but oh, well.

Haha, yeah, I'm actually in that class. I'd say I'm the tall dude with long hair, but there's some other relatively tall dude with long hair in that class too, I think..or maybe he's in tonights class...I dunno...I look like my avatar! Only with glasses.

Diggin' those heads. But from the two I recognize (second two...first was probably from a session I missed) it looks like you have a tendency to really narrow the chin/lower face. Keep an eye on that.

    incroyable! incrediblee!

only thing I can think of is that your foreheads tend to jut out on 3/4 view, making the right eye look a little bit flat.

excellent, as I have stated before.

hmm... cool. are those markers? (it's hard for me to tell)

also, your bridgman studies are great, but I'd watch out for making the heads too flat. Try closing one eye while you work, then closing the other eye and working on it some more.
