The Portfolio that got me into Art Center (Large D/L)

    Hey everyone,

I used to post here regularly, but haven't for about three years. My name is Sam, I'm 18, and am going to Art Center College of Design starting this spring.

I graduated from high school a year early and have spent the last semester going to college here in my home town of College Station, Texas. All of the work here is no older than June of this summer; a good part of the paintings made in July in the School of the Art Institute's Early College Program. Are there any other ACCD students that post on this forum? I'd be curious what they have to say.

    What do you think?

    Thanks for looking.

the second one is my favorite.
    just beautiful.

some of the others have minor proportional issues, but they're great for being right outta high school.

    nice work.
    you've got alot of potential.

I think they are all very good for your age, and don't take that as a patronising statement - I mean it in the most positive way.

This is classical study at it's best - free from any fanboy style issues, keep this up and you will be a top class artist in any medium.

Hey guys, thanks for the nice comments. I realized my freshman of high school year that classical study was the way all the artists I admire learned to draw and paint.

JackJack - I'll be first term illustration, any suggestions on how to get thru the semester? I'm trying to see if Oxy will let me stay in one of their dorms my first couple of terms, ever heard of an ACCD student staying in Oxy dorms?
