In the future, robot ascetic cave cult of the boddhisattva Iktomi. (there is a big LAN party in the back of the cave...oh wait, that is already too primitive today.

I miss 30 or something DSG's, come back to find William changed his avatar to a very beautiful bird..nice one William.

I really love the texture on your work Goran and also the brush strokes on Dan's. very impressionistic....if thats the right word.

Could any of you give me tips on creating better texture? i only got Painter about a week ago.

    look thanks.

    WaiPang Well I use photshop
Anyway I usually avoid the round brush, besides when doing stuff like atmosphere - usually opting for texture heavy brushes, or/and brushes with clearly defined shapes. Try the Painter paletteknife if you want to go with something similar to what I have. I usually make around 3-5 brushes per DSG, in this case I actually made around 10 brushes to set the scene up; mostly because I recently changed computers and I didn't have a brush backup though.

So I made 4 Tech brushes, with random boxes sprayed in random patterns.
    1 Palette knife
    2 Rocks
& then 3 brushes to draw small stuff like lights etc, that I never used for this piece.

Well, my first submission on these boards-- its crap, but I like the idea

Glad I found this sketch group thing, its a great way to practice taking a random idea and putting it on paper.

Just been browsing through all the topcs I've missed (I now have time to participate for a while) and have go to say the turn out for this one is awesome - so many really cool entries. Top notch work guys!

My fav' has to be Goran's second. Man, your B&W stuff is always great but this is the best I've seen yet. Composition, design, texture etc.. are all spot on, but the notches on the cave wall counting down/up/off the days is what makes it for me. Simple idea that just gives it so much story potential.

The first thing that sprung into my mind was the idea that he's counting down the days until the urban sprawl reaches his secluded cave and destroys his chosen/forced solitude, but I can interpret it in so many different ways. Please don't explain your original meaning.
