I like how they made a joke on a misconception. Just to clear things up: A geometric circle has infinite numbers of angles, when taken into account that angles are created by straight lines called faces. A circle is conceived by rotation of a line around a focus, and each mapping of change of the line represents an increase in angle and face, which are infinite in abstract terms because the world of geometric shapes exists in abstraction. Why doesn't a triangle have infinite angles? Because a triangle has 3 faces, which cannot be considered angles, it is where the face meets another face that creates an angle. If we used a straight line to define a face, then a circle also has infinite faces, and thus also infinite angles.

In other words, rotate a triangle around a focus to create a circle. You get abstractly infinite angles for the circle. In essence, it is like saying red has more colors than white.

In short, the circle seems to be less pointless, infinitely less pointless at that, than the triangle.

So I need to give sources for what I say? When did that happen on this forum, or does it have to do with my age? When I get my physics degree, then that means I don't need to verify myself with other sources right? Even though I don't need to show sources, I still did, but people still held to their own ideas. I can give all the sources in the world, and that won't make a difference. I can't gather all of the articles I have read in the past, or credit my knowledge to my teachers which are undocumented, except in the tons of notes I have in my closet (which would still seem as if it is from me and not my teachers).

    Easy search on Google:

    http://mathcentral.uregina.ca/qq/dat...eorganne1.html

The concept of infinite sided/angled circle does not even require sourcing. I can proof it, and so can you.

I took my time to type up something from from Roger Penrose's book The Road to Reality: A Complete Guide to the Laws of the Universe (pg 11-12):

"Plato made it clear that the mathematical propositions-the things that could be regarded as unassailably true-referred not to actual physical objects (like approximate squares, triangles, circles, spheres, and cubes that might be constructed from marks in the sand, or from wood or stone) but to certain idealized entities... Physical structures, such as squares, circles, or triangles cut from papyrus, or marked on a flat surface, or perhaps cubes, tetrahedra, or spheres carved from marble, might conform to these ideals very closely, but only approximately... The actually mathematical squares, cubes, circles, spheres, triangles, etc., would not be part of the physical world." - Penrose

When the teacher from the link I gave said, "there is no natural way of saying what the side of a circle is". He or she means that because idealized geometric shapes are abstract entities, hence not natural entities, so there is no natural way of determining the face of a circle in our natural world (since they would only be approximation of the perfect geometry), because they exist in the abstract world. Does that make enough sense? I guess it is my fault to think everyone knows these things.

I like how you made an explanation on a misconception. Just to clear things up: Because thinking of him (the circle) as an infinite number of angles and/or lines is as wrong as the early idea of movement was wrong in thinking of it as an infinite number of POINTS in time ...because there would be nothingness in between those points aka NO MOVEMENT and/or an infinite number of points creates one infinite line ... time is - as movement is - a continuous line ...as continuous as this circle line is (and it only could be one infinite line because its a representation or abstraction of something we have no understanding for which is the idea of infinity ...to make it into an "infinite number" of things we could understand ( angles and lines) is just the awkward attempt to put it into a frame that allows us the get the smallest hint of an idea what the hell we are talking about, but in the end we still know nothing about it ^^ )

plus the universe consists of strings (yeah I know - we will see ^^ )...and strings dont have any points or corners so ...your circle will always have strings as smallest component.

In other words , he still is pointless.

In short, the circle is more pointless ( if this is possible pld: ), infinitely more pointless at that, than the triangle

yeah and this is just plain being a smart ass, you feel pretty smart right now , eh ? ...in retrospect ...all you said was kind of shooting your mouth off.... " I read this " ..."he said this" ....you know what the problem is with guys like you are ? ...That this is the ultimate end of your intellect ...you only know what others say to you, you will forever be unable to see beyond this stuff and see the things as they really are no matter how hard you try ^^ just reading the words and knowing what they mean doenst make you understand the real meaning behind them .... I know sounds like an insult but it really is not ....just a fact I learned spending my time with this exact type of persons for many years.

A well intended advice ....its not easy, but there is a way of being smart without being arrogant at the same time ...and this is what distinguishes a very wise one from "just" a smart one. But that, youll have to discover for yourself.

    so long ^^

P.S. sorry I had to, first time read all those comments and this is what came to my mind reading it ^^
