    young asian girl

Here's a new piece I am working on. I haven't fully worked out the idea yet but this is what I got so far. Please crit me on anythgn you see, cause I need it. I didn't use reference...I need to start doing that again. I plan on puttign pattern on her dress and throwing a key around her neck to give some mystery to it.
    Thanks!

Looking good, I like the rendering style

Hey Voodoochile, I think it's starting to look really good. The one thing I would say is that the bridge of her nose looks awkward, maybe if you straighten it out so the bridge connects it to the bottom.

I think the rendering and colors are nice, can't wait to see how it fleshes out.

Her left eyebrow is higher than her right, and the entire bridge of her nose is slanted at a weird angle. The mouth is set at an angle, too, with the right side higher than the left (the right area of the lower lip is also thinner than the left area). The jaw is also lopsided; the right side has the kind of jawline you usually see on "heart" shaped faces, while the left side has a fuller, softer look seen on "oval" shaped faces. Basically, because the features are so asymmetrical, it looks like each side of the face belongs to a different person.

personally i think the asymmetry of her face is great...the lips and the crooked nose really make the image for me...i would tighten it up just a bit ...and i do agree with skunkitorium's comment about the jawlines on either side....i just hope you dont over do the symmetry...despite the technical anatomy issues, the asymmetry really lends a certain realism to the face,,,character

    Here's my suggestion:

Kind of speaks for itself, really. If you want, you can extend the image to a full body and make an interesting pose, instead of her just standing there.

It's a really interesting concept. Maybe you could draw a really stylised landscape behind her. Slight contrast and brighter colours would make it more dynamic.

Run an anatomy check, she still looks a bit 2D.

Oh, and don't hide her hands.
