    In The Dark Forest

Well I posted some of these in finished works, but later decided that I wanted to keep updating with some not-so-finished stuff and felt that FW wasnlt the place for that, so here we are...

(Some pieces from my first post were moved down to the 2nd post, I was getting tired of the same sketchbook icon)

I remember you guys actually introducing me to this website

I like these drawings a lot, especially 2, 7, and 8. The common thing that I noticed in most of your creature drawings, is that
you only finish the head, and it distracted me a little bit. But if you just say cleaned it up a little more i'd probably be all set~*

Glad you're starting a SB cuz i've always liked your stuff, ESPECIALLY your sketches. I hope you update frequently unlike Adam and
Mclean "ahem." Can't wait to see more man~*

Drew, the first tree dude one is awesome, but suffers from the same unfinished bottom The cockpit one and pilot one are pretty
kickass too, the pilot design is workin but MAYBe put in more of that cool blue you got in the googles (they also seem a bit high?) And
the cockpit perspective feels a little strange, also the shadows of the bars would make a more patterned shadow on the seat etc.
    Nitpicks btw~* Keep it up

Hey guys, thanks for the replies. Here's some new stuff.

    From top to bottom-
1.Environment I've been working on, still need to tweak the rocks a bit, crits are needed on this one...

    2. Weird lil monster fella here, probably gonna paint this guy up later.

    3. My take on Yupa the swordsman from Nausicaa, I finished the series a while ago and he was definitely my favorite character from it.

4+5. Series of landscapes I'm workin on for a story I plan to flesh out.

    6. Early sketch for a boss monster who resides in the temple from #1...yup, hes a big rock man...

love his boney, skinny hand a lot. The pencil ones seem to have more detail than the digital ones, but maybe its just the designs.. Anyway, i like those a lot, especially the hattet guy with the tentacles comin outta his belly in post #1 cus of his off, but fso funny pose and expression

    Awesome character designs!!

The only suggestion I might say is to play around with the sharpness/definition of subjects in your environments to emphasis relative distance. In particular is your mountain environment in post #12. As of the moment, I feel the village is too sharp and defined and the rocks closest to us blurry in comparison.

just my two cents, love to see more updates.

nuki, Blaz, Dreamworker, and veedubb- Thanks! Now that I'm back at my computer I'll probably be updating more often

JERI-Good idea, there's a good chance that I will go back into that one again and try and push some more atmosphere in there also

In the meantime, here is an earlier piece that I reworked

Your linework is loverly! I really like the rocky landscape sketches and the one of the macho moustached guy. Your coloured works are very good too. My crit would be to try to be more subtle with your strokes, and to try to erase the outlines. Compensate the outlines for added highlight, really bright highlight to bring parts forward.

amer-nazi-Thank you very much! I'm trying to eliminate the outlines and the black in my work, just gonna keep experimenting with different approaches until something sticks I guess.

awesome update, your best pieces yet. The second one is too good and I would like to see an entire world of him. In other news, every piece that has rocks in it is cool, so go draw more rocks.

your attention to details make your painting really nice!!! but the lack knowledge of anatomy and flow of figure ruin some of your paintings<< that shows in your sketches man,,, study the hell outta human figure and u'll be on your way to be a bad ass artist... peace!
