Thank you very very much everyone... i can't believe i'm getting 5 stars ... i still have too many things to learn...

Brendan: thanks alot my friend. I tried adding some but it doesn't shows up enough to be interesting. i'll keep working on that.

    Shinryu: thank you !

Liam: hah ! liam in my sb!!! thanks alot for the nice comment

Idiot Apathy: hey !! thanks man =) You're doing some great colors. I think i might join your Peer project V2. I'm just starting with the colors.

So, i kept working a bit with that guy. Might go a bit lighter with the highlights... will add some background also... blank is boring :s

diggin the last update, i gotta say i'm surprised you're not letting the pencils of the painting show through more since you've already rendered it so nicely (loved the sketch and gave it a go painting it myself haha )

Those tattoo designs are really nice! And this http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...1&d=1161897502. WHOAH. I love it.

About the photo referenced drawing that you tossed: I almost went mad with exactly the same kind of errors. I worked a pair-portrait for my friend and his gf. After two "practise" sheets I took a hard and blunt pencil and started slightly put down the main values. Suddenly it all went much easier, and I feel that the light value for beneath the clean crosshatching does quite nice touch.

    Keep em coming!

Great job on the colors! I definitely suggest dropping by Peer Project 2, it's a fantastic thread. Once you get further along, you might want to go further with warm and cool colors. The second one in your last post is great, specifically the guy on the left. Very simplistic, but say's everything it needs to.
    Keep it up man!

    great studies

Great sketchbook. The bust of the half skull face really struck me. I love it! I also like the pencils of the portraits also. keep working with the digital paintings, but try to keep the same mood as your pencil sketches. oh, and post more!

    Buenos dias! DanielC
Niiice new sketchbook! I'm still enjoying these pencils and loving your comp designs. Sweet skeleton and skull render. Excellent. Thanks for the kind comments in my SB.

To answer about materials: I use smooth cheapie newsprint and charcoal pencils; pencil of choice is Ritmo_Art Alternatives. Because newsprint is so non-archival, I must learn to handle more textured paper and alter technique a bit.
I first studied under Glen Orbik http://www.orbikart.com/ and Mark Westermoe. Glen was Jeff's teacher at one time, so there is a connected history of style.

exams are no excuse Daniel. Your drawings come first. End of story.

Great updates man, don't know why you resort to calling your stuff poop.
It makes me feel so much worse about myself.
Solid stuff, I like the fat guy's face, well drawn, distinctive and convincing.
Second piece is supa great, composition seems to be working in your favour.

EDIT - ha right now our post counts are equal. I've caught up, mwuahahahahaa!

    Sick shit my friend,

Really intriguing work, my friend. I will be keeping an eye on your progress. My only comment would be to make sure your pencils are always sharp, sharp, sharp... Some posts have some rather flat looking lines. Other than that, great stuff.

    Man, I LOL-ed at Brendan's answer! XD~

But I know what you mean. The sketches are great so far and I loved the colored study that you are doing. I wish you good luck in the exams, so you can draw with worrying about it soon!
