Great stuff here Daniel -I love the sketchbook pages, really nice compositions and concepts. and also the quality of your pencil rendering. I was just curious and maybe you already answered this (apologies if this is the case), but what kind of sketchbook are you using?

    hey man, bitchin update

keep experimenting with trying to get some different textures and stuff in your pencils, like i said on that one with the angel, it really adds another level of interest and keeps people looking for that much longer, if you can get texture mastered like everything else you will be a SUPREMELY ULTIMATE HARDCORE AWESOME BADASS DUDE!!! I'd say your already damn close to that anyway

on the colour, sorry dude but you NEED more hues going on in that one, its fucking awesome but it looks like a model thats been cast out of pink, purple, and green resin. i can't really suggest how to go about it , have a look at some other peoples figures, take it into PS and use the eye dropper to see all the different hues in flesh tones.

    awesome!!! keep on inspiring me!

    Ryan: thanks! I'll try

    Jake: thank you monsieur

Brendan: Thanks! So for the error.. well... the line that between the nose and cheek shouldn't be the same as the one in the corner of the mouth =)..lol yeah that's pretty much it..

Stark: thanks bro ! Posted a couple of quicker pages =)

    Marco: thanks alot !!

Michael: thank you very much, it means alot. I should check out your sb too

Achadobu: hey ! Actually i haven't been asked that question. I bought a brand new Daler Rowney one. It says 150g/m². It's very smooth and resistant.. just the way i like it.

Kronos: lol you don't have to be sorry. I should be sorry for myself for not putting enough attention to colours. I'll work on it more. THANKS !

Some rather quick pages. Came back on the second one to work a bit more on the composition. Colors are coming, don't worry =)
Last one's a pic i sent to a friend over at café salé. I'll work on it more on my side and see what she's done on it after. At first there were many more character in the background but erased them since i had to leave some space for her.

Sup Daniel, long time no speak.

Your rendering quality has spiked dramatically.

All the studies you made paid off.

I'm astounded, nothing less than that.

PS: Kronos has the right idea on your digi stuff. There's a lot more hues in skin tones and anything for that matter.
    Let alone reflected light.

aaah, ok I see now what you mean lol. Man, I need to revisit my anatomy more often .

Theis last bunch is great man, any plans on selling that left hand of yours? Think I'd like to draw left for a change. Just one thing to watch out for: I see you often have your focal point on the right side of the drawing, and you often split the composition vertically in half. Not a mistake of course - and it's not always the case. Just be careful not to fall into a habit.

But seriously man, your work is stellar, thanks for the inspiration my friend!

Evildisco: thank you very much for the comment ! I'll keep working on colours

Brendan: hehe. yeah, about the composition, well i'm keeping that type because the sb has a smaller width. But i'm sure i can guess some more interesting ones. Thanks !

Santa: Alo ! yeah i'll keep that in mind Thanks alot !

Stark: thanks ! actually she's working on it right now. i've did a bit of work on it.... but i'm not very pleased with my result.

Mrgrumble: lol... i don't think my rather...simple.. stuff would make him think about it..compared to his crazy movies. Actually i've seen all of the serie.... (i've downloaded it .. .... couldn't resist), and it's freaking awesome!
they're selling it on dvd right now, at 100 000$ the pack. I haven't seen the order yet though, is it good ?
    Thanks for dropping by !

    Tiger: lol, thanks !!

Marco: ... i didn't even say anything about that...and you're right about it in some way. i did that portrait on my french class (was bored) and though of my own face at first. hehe thanks !

PaperX: thank you, i'll try =)

Here are some rather not so good pencils. Haven't spent enough time and attention to any of them........

    you bitch....

The digital is a good stab in the right direction. I find that usually it's easier to get the colours down first and start to define the forms and lighting, as opposed to working them in whilst rendering.

Even though the digital is the "worst" part of the update, it's real good. The pencils are just fucking insane man. I can't see anything to crit. There may be small errors here and there but nothing worth even mention.
You're a constant inspiration dude, and a huge one. Rock on, man.
Now, where'd I put my pencil?

Dude, you are so depressing me right now. lol I have been shading and sketching I don't know how many faces and I can't catch up to you. Guess I'll have to work some more... I can't wait to see what you and your friend comes up with. The update is grand (as usual ). The Athenian woman's right eyelid is looking...pudgy? Looks like she has pink eye or like someone popped her one

I agree with Stark....if those are what you call "some rather not so good pencils. Haven't spent enough time and attention to any of them" then I think im gonna go hide in the corner for a bit.....

either that or do more studies to catch up!!!

lol...anyhow, very nice update, pleasing to the eyes as always

Love the pencils as always, especially the 2nd paper in your last update, and then the rendering of the torso/arm in the digital.

    good stuff, no great stuff

best of luck endeavouring that monsoon ~ and amazing sketch as usual. love th tentacle emenating form that charcters arm, doesnt jump out at the viewer right at once!
and, if you guys do lose power from this gale/typhoon, consider this: unlike all the digi reliant artists who'll be outta luck down thar, you can keep on with your pencils

man, i always feel like i never have anything to say or i'm just repeating myself here. YOU ARE AWESOME!

mrgrumble likes the tentacle arm, i like the tentacle coming out of the wall its badass!

one thing though, and it could just be me, but it looks like the car is only half there?

also with the digi stuff, i recommend you do a study from life... human or not, just observe the colours, i think you would really get a lot out of it.

    and again, YOU ARE AWESOME!

Nice updates! you'r lines are great, and you seem to have a good understanding of the forms you draw in 3d. What I think you could work on is your cross hatching, practice on using your cross hatching to define your shapes in 3d. It was something I learned while studying classical drawing, which really helped me.

    Keep it up!

I'll also need to repeat myself. That's look awesome. This one feels a bit looser than some of you previous stuff, and I dig it for that. keep going man, and good luck with the storm/monster things.
