I'm trying to merge line and surface together. Hard task for someone you loves lines! But the only way to learn how to paint, hu! So long for rendering today.

Good luck with it. Cya in class.
Awesome sketchbook. More updates pls ^^!
looking good! try to keep that rendering cleaner tho, don´t just scribble the shadows in, make the strokes follow the same direction, or the planes of the form!
seeing the sketches of your models (women and men) I have even more respect for you sire... greetings, a young padawan from your school
Thx Rebel.
Here is one more. The drawing in 1h30, a speedpaint of values in 1h.
You saw this exercise before, hu!?
Cheers to all!

i like the thumbnails and the figure drawings
i would love to see some other lightcolors for your paintings it would make your subject pop out of the background some more
btw where do you take those modeldrawing sesions?
Verry impressive! Wish i had more time ( and a wacom ) to concentrate on my drawingskills... You make painting a robot-arm look like a walk in the park.
Greetings from a student.
One more; a wip of a freaky freak.
Thx 4 the comment Chrisss. Keep it up and you will improve in skills.

Wrong. Study everything you can. If a picture can be a face study and an anatomy study, then make it both.
Industrial design seems to be your strong point; all your ships are fantastic.
If you're trying to wean yourself off lines and get more comfortable with a painterly approach, then do a few paintings using no lines whatsoever. This will force you to adapt.
Want to see someone become a master? (My Sketchbook)
And with a little pigment it looks even better.
Cruz; thx 4 the comment. I'll think of that next time I wont draw a monster-alike-head.
Keep drawing everybody!

massive updates since I last looked!
The head of your freaky freak reminds me a bit of that 'brain'-bug in Starship Troopers.
One small crit though (plz ignore it lol): in post #130 I think the foot on the middle one is too small.
More plz![]()
Yo. Thx Gerre; the foot is too small indeed.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world.
Hi Deodatus, nice model sketches. Are you doing those sessions in Gent? Maybe I'll try to do some too. Nice brush strokes on that last one btw.
Anyway, keep it up!
One more little painting from today. About 3h. I must say that Remko Troost inspired me a lot with his session! Lets exercise some more; héhé!
Lyno; thx for dropping by. I go for drawing once a week in Gent indeed. It fun and I see Epias there sometimes.
Fox; I will try to organize the speedpaint evenings again this year. We 'll have some fun!
Giow; Gent rulez! Take care.
Polydrawer; thx for the idea. I was rather thinking of something else; I hope I can show it here soon
