Hey bhanu, really intresting sketchbook you have, you got a great understanding of anatomy and poses. Your red headless men are pretty freaky but still intrests me (freaky stuff do haha). Although I would like to se some more hues and not only red on them, like a bit of blue mixed in with the shadows of the red men. Otherwise really great inspiring work, I really like it when people goes personal with their work like you do.



I have also had those kinda days when you feel you cannot remember anything and you seem to have to relearn all, but what I have learnt is to still do what I feel I do worst when I get like this because in the end I get better at it.

Lord M- Thanks man, we all love freaky stuff dont we. Thanks for that. About the hue issue, I do put ina little blue and litte yellow, and seven some green in there, but I sort of smudge them to make them look desaturated deep reds or other tones. Basically I want to keep it as close to proper red as possible.
Its nice to work hard when you lose the flair, its like a bit like when one has to work hard to make the relationship at times, its not always going to be a bed of roses, and hell, even the hard work tastes sweet in the end. So I hear you. Thanks again man

Metal Fingers- Thanks man. You know, I so want to do a spawn comic someday. I am such abig fanboy, there was a time when that was all that I wanted. But surely I will paint some of them big boys. Thanks for the reminder

I rarely show my paintings in process, firstly because its too hard to remember to click pics of save screenshots, I just get too involved while painting.
Secondly the amount of changes are massive, sometimes when I think I am close to the end, a thought strikes me and bam,its white gesso on top and its back to the burners.

But here i am trying something like this. Will try to take more pics.

Very early in the process,just figuring out the basic design


starting to render a little,block in shapes a little. Still somewhat shaky


just some more rendering, but I am not liking how the formsare shaping out though


Finally getting close to what i want,but still the fluency is missing, oh and trying to fuck around with the background


So,as you can see I have a habit doing something drastic at the last moment, its just happens, sometimes it ends up sucking but when it works it looks great. Right now I am not sure which one this is, I might know tomorrow morning I guess.

Looking good man, I like the loose quality of the lines. i'm having a bit of trouble following what's happening though. What happens to the singlet guy after panel 2? I think it works well with the lines on their own and maybe a bit of black and grey actually, i like the graphic effect,

Rodrigo- Well I guess it would be easier to follow the story with the text in place, Well I did try to make it work by inking and coloring, let me know if this is working better, I am trying to find a middle place between my style as well as a more noir comic thing.

I think I like the red figure studies more than you illustrations - I think because for me they are a bit more tangible. I never was a big comic book reader so I can't really relate to any of the different styles out there. Judging by the amount of pages I'd say you're doing pretty good tho xD.

But, since you asked what we think about the pages.. I think in general you use a bit too much black for shadows (in contrast to where you use it and where you use cross stitching) and the buildings in the lower left frame have a bit too much sketchy lines. I like what you've done with the green buildings in the frame next to it where you let color blocks do the most of the shading instead of pencil lines. 2ct.

Yeah I can, but most people cant use cross-HATCHING to save their lives in a sequential work, and thats not the aim, I am going a for a noir sort of look. Where I keep the masses strongly seperated, and lessen the contrast by adding colors.
As for the sketchy feel, I going for that abit. Its not a standard comic that marvel churns out or something(albeit marvel has some of the best artists out there). I dont want to give that high end production quality.
Basically tahts one things I am thinking about while doing the pages on this comic.

Your sketchbook is very refreshing compared to what's out there. I like your unpolished style. It certainly gives off a certain feel and mood. I also like the atmosphere in your comics and well. Maybe some more observational drawing and painting could help but I can see you are doing that anyway. I also really admire your bravery about just making a comic. I've been working on my own comic on and off for a while now and I've still in the process of writing it. I'm just ever completely satisfied with certain parts of it and that is something that is holding me back. I was wondering if you had the same problem. I'm looking forward in seeing more.
