    super heros clash (update oct.26th)

couple new things, set design and random caca. The super hero one inspired by the recent marko marvel kickass illustrations.

I'm really liking the way this forum is turning out btw.

I'm really digging the exaggerations and the colors.
The one thing that bothers me in the first piece is his right leg (below his knee) seems too skinny.

Keep it up and post some more!

the spider mans really reminds me of cheeks stuff. I love the colours in the first painting. Really lose feel, and looks like an economical use of strokes. excellent work. can't wait to see more!

An excellent work in a very mastered style.
Personally, I have a fondness for the third one which is a delightful personal interpretation of super heros.

Haha. If I were a superhero i'd beat the crap out of Wolverine myself for being so over-saturated. Great Job on all works!

Nice work alex, but like I told you, the lensflares would help out the composition so much better . I especially enjoy the superheros.

Interceptor/jake & maxe - thanks fellas, it just happened to be wolv in the middle.. no reason.

I was ink - true enough you're right, thanks!

MikeC - thanks, and yeah i did go for the pastel-ish look. I find it more fun to work with color wise.. it makes you think about your next brush move haha. And yes, Marko had a huge influence on me for the heros, it was the first time i had tried to do anything marvel related.

oalexis - thanks, i've seen some of cheeks stuff before, alot of people at school have his stuff laying around. I think his poses are great indeed.

derf - thanks, i don't know when i'll be putting any more work up.. schools taking some time and we're working on films and such. Also been busy with 3D. will have to see!

AgAtA - hey! thanks for the compliments, i'm glad you liked it. I love your work! i've seen some of it recently.

Nicko/TheGnoll - thanks guys, and indeed i added some years to batman haha.

endregan - thanks you sicko, i was wondering if you could give me some tutorials on how to make lensflares at school.... or at your place... haha (are you coming to the meeting next weekend?)

Someone is gonna get buttraped by the Hulk =]

Cool stuff man, though I think your ocean stuff could use a bit more saturation- other than that, pretty wicked stuff.

These are great man, the super hero piece is great. I think you curving batman's cape all the way to a straight line down the left bottom corner frames it weird, I'd just throw it right off the border. Nice work!

I like those pastel seascapes, myself. They feel like the seaside to me. Nuff said on the superhero stuff - on point!

Have you guys checked out Alex's website? Tight stuff there, too.

Though I would encourage you, Alex, to keep at the 2-D BIG TIME. It looks like the 2-D is your most raw, more impassioned form of expression. The lines and the energy they represent look like they come from the heart.

    Thanks for sharing!

..damn so many replies hah, thanks for the comments.

Justin - yeah my friends said the same haha, and for the set design i tried to make it all blend together so i had to lower the saturation on the last one. perhaps it was a bad move.. thanks for the notice!

Ulie/mwillustration/openanewworld/cotron - you guys are too nice!! (thanks tho)

strych9ine - I completely agree with you 100%, indeed one of my bad habbits is to paint over my quick sketches and forget to "re-compose" my elements afterwards...and im also terrible at fixing stuff. i always kinda throw it in the basket and move on. Good eye! thanks!

    character/kaktuzlime - thanks fellas

Pixel8 - thanks bud, apreciate. As for the 3D part i really have to update my site, those were my first models back when i started learning maya and i got around getting alot better at it. I've been working on alot of different projects animation/short film wise and planning stuff out. So whenever i got time ill make my 3D section worth the bandwidth haha.
