your work is goodi'd like to see you using more traditional mediums over the digital, you learn more.
some quick shading, trying to think about which character i want to push farther. pushing it will involve a costume design as well as face development. I am going to try and work in the same silhouette this time because that's what i have heard yah gotta do in the biz. later!
Nice to see your progress... quantum leaps. Be careful of not drawing hands from 90 degree angles as they are almost never like that. And it's boring to look at. Otherwise nice work.
Hey Jdeegz, thought i'd return the favor
I like what you're doing around here and i can see some major improvement and i believe you're on the right track.
I see you're trying to stay away from color somehow. Let me tell you a little secret:
As you paint more and more, it changes the way you look at pencil drawing. By practicing paint a lot, you gain a certain perspective on color, mood, volume, depth-of-field, etc. and all these help you immensely in your traditional drawing area.
Don't be afraid to wreck some paintings, you learn something even from the worst (if not Especially from the worst). I'd like to see you try on some more color and nerve.
I feel what you need now is more Balls in your paintings.
Regarding this last character, i think the best options would be nr.2 and nr. 4. I like their poses alot and i think they help build your character quite well. regarding the pose, 4 might actually be better, it has a sense of movement and gesture specific to an old yet curvy and selfconfident lady.
Keep up, i'll be dropping by to see your progress on the lady and i'll try to help around here and there.
Cheers!
Diggin the expressive characters and the stylization, Good stuff!
Your character designs are great too
Maybe some more color?
This is what happens after i've been concept ideating for my industrial design class. It has nothing to do with a fitness calculator, but sure is a hell of a lot cooler.
Got bored of drawing my 'weather buddy' so i drew him with a sword and in my style
Bored, again, this time in my environmental science class.
Bored, assistant teaching 'drawing for designers' i forgot i had students, and drew shit instead haha, oh wells.

Good stuff man, major improvements all around.
thanks Wes.
heres my weatherbuddy concept. i've got to figure out how to communicate that he hangs on a wall indoors and has a weather sensor that wirlessly transmitts data from the outside.
man, the spaceship looks uber awesome!
good improvement at all! keep at it!

UUUGGGGHH I HATE FACES
you know what i hate more than faces
COLOR
why the hell cant i do color. i had to cheat and use the eye dropper every once in a while on this guy.
this guy is me. and it looks nothing like me.
but
atleast i participated right?
its hard to keep pushing somthing you have no faith in.
I think i need to practice drawing faces first before i try and understand how to paint them.
a slew of sketches
im thinking about pushing the car busting through the smoke, i think its got some potential.
faces are the hardest. I feel the same way every time i try to paint one in color >.< That one may have been tough, but it looks like you learned a lot doing it. I often prefer to jump headlong into things i don't understand rather than slowly inch my way forward. Also there are plenty of pros who use the eyedropper for colors, it is rare to find people who are just good at painting them. It's all about the practice... Keep it up
sketchies!
fun fun
forgot to post this thes odder day
i've almost filled my new sketchbook... which was my goal to do before dec 16th.
but i left it at home on thanksgiving, ! now im screwed!
ill eventually scan all of it and throw it up.
im still alive guys, ive got a whole semester of posting to catch up on, and itll be done!
im graduating tommorow, so sometime next week this book will be filled up again!![]()
Looking good on the industrial design deegz
I'm liking the color as well, very stylistic.
What I would suggest is to start up a ton more gesture and figure studies before moving forward with the character design.
Perhaps www.posemaniacs.com and www.characterdesigns.com with a splash of www.hel-looks.com for good measure
Make sure you get those proportions right as well as learning the muscle mass before moving forward on anatomy
Have fun, hope to see more.
