some sketches,
im tryin to figure out how to draw cars.
drew a porsche 959 for my friend
Dude keep it up but use more refs with your enviros. That porsche is pretty rad. faces are getting better as well.
Jim is back!
I drew a girl.. and i liked it!
She is a pretty thing. Mrs Monroe.
Nice portraits, especially #279 and #278. Good to see other people struggling with ps hehe. Keep practising the digis and don't forget the traditional ones, your anatomy looks a bit weak

I am having a hard time trying to sketch a head with just lines. I was studying loomis, and I think it may have to do with my getting used to sketching on my tablet rather than paper.
I did another portrait, thought with no reference. It looks pretty good to meI think her lack of hair detail kind of hurts the piece, I will practice on that.
sketchy doo's
lil dude

no refs, had sumfuns
you're getting better, but do more reffed studies, and focus on really pushing them. You can't push your imaginative work, unless you push your referenced work further.
Excellent head studies, turned out to help with some nice portrait work. Those cars are great too. Keep up the good studies.
self portrait via mirror
this workout was like 300lb bench presses.
Hey Iv been meaning to comment in here earlier iv just been a bit busy with work. Just a few thing you might want to consider as your doing your studies. Vary up your mark making as with your brush size ( hard edges, soft edges, and lost edges)and edge quality.
Push your values and have the saturation mach that value depth. Remember to flip your canvas and double check the proportions. Also spend a bit more time with these studies laking maybe 4-5 hours really going through seperat detail passes.

thx for the comments, just another quick SP for values.
still working on a solid workflow, i think it is coming along. I certainly am much more comfortable with heads than i had previously been and i am learning very much by doing these portraits.
rob, although i would like to mix and match brush styles, i just have a hard time stopping, and looking, and deciding which brush i should pull out. I think that is not just a brush but a problem with my entire paintings. I need to get the patience and knowledge to pull back, and look at the drawing for a minute, and think about the next stroke i make rather than slopping them all on.
I know it's weak but i am still dipping with colour once or twice a picture because i for some reason cannot get an accurate read with values yet. sigh, I'll understand soon i hope
See you tommorow.

Dude, you've made some hefty progress since you started this sketchbook! Wow...everything is just so much more confident! Aaanyways, stick with the self portraits. It's always good to try studying from life. I'm really looking forward to collaborating with you on the ChoW! S'gonna be awesome.
my tractor progress, i have some other non computer sketches that show the function that i am looking for.
started a new self portrait,
and only got to two pose studies.

you're going to be one angry old man

Hello Jdeegz,
Thanks a bunch for commenting in my SB, I must return the favor. You've made incredible progress in this book, I can't believe it's the same artist who drew the stuff from the first page when I look at this last one. Commenting and critiquing is rather pointless because you're doing all the right things. Cheers and thanks once again!
