    Total begginer

    Hello.
    This is my first post.
My english isn´t the best so i hope you can understand what im saying anyway.

Have to say that this forum is amaaazing, its absolutley amazing, cant belive how many good artists there is out there.
Seems that this is a verry friendly and helpfull forum to. I love it.

Anyways, im a total begginer at drawing faces(and almost everything else to, hehe).
And wolud like to learn drawing faces and bodys, characters if you will.

I was thinking i should learn faces first.
I want to learn both realistic drawing, and more fantasy like things.
So im woundering if you can give me som starter tips and trix, as i said, im totaly new to this, so i need al the help i can get.
    Any good ways to start?
Anything i sholud think about in the beggining?

I sholud also say that im just using pencil and paper.

    Regards.

    Ok boss,
Firstly, welcome on board and i hope you find your experience here a helpful and gratifying one.
Secondly, I think your in the wrong forum for this kind of post. This is generally for tips tricks and techniques concerning Corel Painter. The painting application.
Thirdly, Since you're relatively new to the 'game', the mantra here and many other places is:
    >Draw from life!
    >Get some books that break down the human form (i.e. Brigman, Loomis, and Hogarth)
    >Study the masters (Rembrandt, Michelangelo, DaVinci, Wyeth, Pyle, Parrish, Rockwell...etc) Understand how they approached drawing, their use of light and shadow, composition...etc.
    >Draw, draw, draw.....chain a sketchbook to your person...and just keep at it.
    >Don't let anyone beat you down. If this is your life's passion...then embrace it.
I think these bullet points should keep you busy for a while...
Again...welcome on board and posting up a sketchbook in the "sketchbook" section should get you on your way.
    Cheers!

Oh yeah, also you can open up a sb (sketchbook thread) and show your progress through there. Remeber.. your always a student and your always learning. Painter, Photoshop. are just tools. Theyre not going to help you get better in your art. What helps you become better is your knowledge. How well you understand the foundations. For example " it is pointless to learn how to draw a house if you dont know how to draw a cube or a square correctly."
Take baby steps in what you do every day. DRAW EVERY DAY. if your looking for inspiration of an artist who started from the ground up.

look for MindCandyMan's thread. *thinks* what else* Learn how to search for information. The information is out there. Like Helzon... said DRAW FROM LIFE..... if you dont know how something looks like..LOOK IT UP.. dont fake it.

sooo do you have any stuff to show.. feel free to post it. to let us see where you are .

    and welcome to CA
