~AA-ron : Kind words. Reference is often used. Perhaps to often, but I believe my brain actually registers the colours and what not... So will see in the future if that's a fact or not. :-S

    ~Quinn Simoes : Thanks mate!

Jeeez I've been, and still am sooo busy...

~Brashen : It's an honour seeing you here. Glad too hear that I'm actually improving -hopefully the next time you enter my domain, there will be another Death Korps update

Portrait study. Trying to get the main colours and shapes in... still a wip, but I'm not sure if I will go on with this one...

The last portrait is kickass. You've improved a lot! But maybe you could do a portrait from mind too, just to see how that's looking?

Great work on those color studies!
I think you totally captured the right values in the last one. Skin could be a really pain in the a** :] Remember to draw greyscales also, it helps alot when it comes to color.

    ~Shadow Of A Mountain : Thanks

~motives : yea, skin is a pain in the ASS But I like doing colour studies. Though I'm also glad that you mentioned greyscales. I REALLY have to improve my values, so last night I did yet another study.

Great description of the form! I think the white highlights are a litte bit bright though. Or the problem is that they are to thick. Try to make them more clear and crispy, and maybe darker. But great job once again!
Was the reference in color? Looking forward to the other ones!
    Cheers

~motives : I found some 3D reference. This is surely the reason for the extreme highlights other ones will come, sooner or later. Trying not to rush these. And time is an issue at the moment

    ~Clochette : Merci, belle dame

    ~humanNature6115 : thanks

Didn't finish nr 2. For some reason this one is harder
I've been sick today... Usually I would spend the day drawing, but I've got a math test tomorrow So I'll throw in a few of the steps on the first ear alongside the wip of nr 2.

Nice ear studies, I like how you included the steps

Aha, yeah now when you mention it it looks very 3d:ish, but also plastic. but what ever. great vaues!

Though it's still a wip I like it couse it looks dull and kinda realistic.
Its great that you dont rush this. keep focus mate!

your last studies really kick ass....motives already mentioned that the ear looks a bit artifivial, but i think the most important part about this exercise is to understand the shape and values....and they both work very well ...keep it up

    Hey there!

Last studies and enviros are great man, really great improvement from your initial posts!

In your previous work you often rendered too "accurately", it looks a bit too smooth and everything is detailed.
The eye don't really know where to look at and general shapes gettin lost in detail and too much blending..... keep the detail to the point of interest.
Like in your last head study....i would say it's finished. The face is great..
and general values and shapes of the hat and shirt are blocked in...so that
    focus is on the face....

However, you're doing the right thing..so Keep em coming!!

    Cheers

    Andi

    ~AA-ron : I love steps myself

~motives : Yea I agree about the artificial look, but I'm rather trying to focus on my values -btw. The test didn't go as good as I thought, but I kicked ass in french (which really doesn't make sense )

    ~gtgamewizard : Thanks

~Tec : That is what I am going for indeed, thanks mate!

~Delmar : I actually just read about focus in some art magazine not so long ago... Must have registered it inside myself since you say the last portrait has this (compared to my earlier works). Take care!

~Vhan Juju : Cheers mate! They are really helpful. I believe I'm really studying the shapes now!

~Diego : Well, I'm no pro, so don't take much notice of my steps. But I've noticed that I love peoples steps, nomatter the skill or age. I find it's interesting looking at other artist approach on the canvas.

    ~Noukah : Thanks!

    ~gtgamewizard : I upload them straight here on CA.org.

~Reject-D : I sure will I'm looking forward to your next update! Don't give up now...

Let me start off saying just one thing... Ears are weird! This one was hard for some reason, and even though I could surely spend HOURS more on it, I'm going to call it finished and move on to the next one. Not sure when my next update will be. If I'm lucky I can squeeze one in before the weekend. My b-day is coming up, and I've got two parties to organize, hehe.

Warning: array_merge() [function.array-merge]: Argument #2 is not an array in /gallery_global.php on line 52
    print_standard_error(...)
    is now redundant. Instead, use
