hello everybody!

Welcome to my sketchbook. Feel free to critique or leave comments, or just have a look. I dont have much drawing and painting experience, but have taken some life drawing classes. Lately i have been reading a lot and made some studies. I have also taken a sketching course recently.

Better things at the bottom, of course.

Hey, I stole your sketchbook virginity!

Anyway, this thing's off to a nice start. There's a good variety of stuff in here. I like that giraffe/beetle, and the face on the first image is excellent. I actually prefer the falling razor idea to your current CoW. It's a strange idea, and a pretty cool image, and with a good description behind it, it would be very interesting. Your newer entry is good, anyway. However, the color saturation in the shadows is too high. Shift it over to the grayer side of the spectrum (not too gray!), and it'll be good.
My main crit at the moment is to clean up your style a bit. Try some softer, more subtle strokes on your next pencil sketch, and make the edges a bit harder and clearer in your digital work.
You're off to a pretty good start! I'll be checking back.

Wow! These drawings are quite strong. Very nice.
Some crits: That red guy that became your avatar is not positioned clearly in space. He looks to be about the same distance from us as the "Dr. Mek" sign, yet he's standing right on the horizon line. The chair painting is dark and moody, and I like that feeling, but I still think that there should be a bit more contrast between the chair and the background.
You need some more comments in your sketchbook! My advice would be to just visit as many other sketchbooks as possible, and hopefully they'll return the favor.

yo these pencilz are quite good , i likem the sketches i mean , also some fresh and funny ideas up in here! i would have only one crit 4 now.
put some more sensibility and time in the outlines of your drawings maybe?
very inspiration for me is the don quichotte horse , did you draw the pose from referenc? keep it up

Liking the bust study and the animals. Great stuff with the ortho too. He looks a little plain to me though. But consitant none the less. Keep it up.

Gillar stolbildens clean:het, och highlightsen och grejer ser bra ut, nice! Har inget direkt konstruktivt att komma med just nu...det ser fint ut, bara att teckna på, så blir det ännu bättre antar jag. Jag får komma tillbaka och ge en bättre kommentar senare...

jag kanske startar en sån härn skissbok här också, du får kolla in den...jag säger till om jag skaffar nån. Well, hörs/ses i skolan type stuff, hej hej

j a k e thanks! Yes the ortho is a bit dull. I should have tested different designs before i started to render.

Big Poppa hej! man kan nog få lite bra tips här ifall man har en skissbok, men den största anledningen att starta en är nog att det är ett sätt att motivera sig till att göra något. kanske.. vi ses i skolan!

Hellu again (this post is, just for the hell of it, in english wow)!

The lighting and stuff on the old guy robot is pretty neat, he looks really metal:y (something I have great problems with). I also totally dig the fact that there are three whole pages (not here, but I know they exist

) with thumbnails of the robot dancing joyously! Sweet!

There's one thing I've been sort of thinking about though, concerning the robot design: It sort of looks very much like a human, anatomy-wise (well, if you'd say that a robot had anatomy of course), almost like a human wearing really neatly figure-cast body armor or something. Is this a conscious decision, or is that just how it turned out?
I know that I sometimes have a problem with not being able to draw humanoids...not humanlike if you will. Like if I'm to draw a frog man, he gets human anatomy and a frogs head, that sort of stuff. Could this be a case of the same thing?

(and oh yeah, I got a sketchbook now, go check it out!

Big Poppa hello! i think the robot/human thing is partly conscious and partly not. i thought about how the robot should be able to move. if the robot hase the same degree of freedom as a human its joints should look somewhat like a human. but how it bends should show also on the surface since it has no soft skin. but some lines vere just scribbles that looked good, so i kept them. actually its shoulders doesnt make sence. now it cant raise them to the sides.

vehicles: they turned out better than i expected. copic markers c1 to c5, different pencils and "tipex"

I do a lot of these. Pretty mindless. No ideas behind, but fun. I think they look a bit too generic tough and unfinished of course.

Are those vehicles the updated versions? I thought they had more contrast "live"... very cool nontheless. I should do more color studies as well...

Damn, Chr! Those are some nice vehicles! I like the sketches in the last update as well. They have a nice loose feel to them. My only suggestion would be to fill the pages a bit more.

Nice faces!

Are they ref:ed or something? Well they look nice anyways, I really like the first one, it's got a nice realistic, yet surrealistic feeling to it.
And you managed to draw a LOT of dinosaurs at sketch night too I see. And they look good too, I especially like the page with the long-necked one and the little bike riding dude, hehe

How's the self protrait coming along btw? Those mouths wouldn't be studies for it now, would they?

I got lazy on the self portrait. so i did no painting.

Yes, for the mouths i used a mirror.

I think i copied the biking dinosaur from a book i read a long long time ago. so i feel a litle bad about that

Those are some sweet looking mouths and noses, Chr. Your faces have a lot of character and life in them.
Speedpaints are great for experimenting with color. Have fun with them!
