    Amazing work once again man.

I really like the colors in the building practice. And, wow , how much do you draw and paint on an average day? Just curious.

    Keep it up man!

herman, I love to see you always working hard
I think if you focus on edges a bit more in your studies, it will help you push your rendering up a few levels. Maybe you are just not interested in taking so long to clean it up...but you never seem to really push the edge treatment of forms, even in personal work.

really looking at how form is shown through the placement of hard and soft edges during your studies, and you can really play off that and exaggerate it in personal work. I think it stems from your really nice linework, that you have the lines to define form, instead of the edges in the rendering.

Inspiring as ever. Those figures from the second to last sketch in the previous post are just hardcore awesome. The self portrait are a pleasure to behold. Some lovely color harmonies. I wonder-and I guess this is personal preference- if your teeth deserve the same definition as your glasses because in terms of physical hardness and the tonal variation that both your teeth and glasses have against flesh are opposite but similar. Just a thought. Just loving these updates, man.

hey man, long time no comment, but just wondering if you're in HK? probably not..

anyway...i graduated from my law degree last month finally haha, so now i'm planning to apply for art school in canada..but i think the earliest i'll get in will be september 2010.

my parents are being a pain in the ass everyday because they think i'm doing nothing (lol surfing CA and drawing studies / doodling mostly..) and trying to practice for preparation for portfolio which will be due in Febrary 2010.

also applied for a life drawing class in Central, haha do you think that will be any good?

i have quite a few questions because i dont know who to ask sort of.. when you went to australia what kind of courses did you apply for? reading CA the general consensus seems to be that Illustration is the best choice, did you do that as well?

thanks i hope you can reply me soon..very stressed out these days and my parents keep suggesting i do the Law 'conversoin' and PCLL exams for HK before i pursue art again and my dad gets really nervous and 'wai tung' because he worries too much..

Great stuff, you are one of my favorite artists. Have you, or will you, ever post hi res working size pics of your line drawings? I would love to see one at working size to really study and try to learn from it. I'm really trying to study how you they look up close.

lovely stuff. My only critique is that you seem to elongate thighs. Be careful you're not making them too long and forcing the calves to be too short
