Thing. Not done but I NEED CRITS PLEASE
Thing. Not done but I NEED CRITS PLEASE
i really like the depth and the texture in it already, but there's not really any focus point to keep the interest of the viewer. But looking really nice so far![]()
Sry I haven't very active. I agree with Lav, get some focus point in there. Good thing you softend the edges at the back but I think you need some more sharp edges at the front.
I also think you should drop the saturation and pull up the value at the back. Now the rocks at the midground have almost the same value as the rocks at the background.
Tips to get some nice focus points is pulling the saturation around your focal point, adding more details and especially in nature environments, putting some man made buildings while attract the viewers eyes! Also putting highlights, the eyes are attracted to white!
Hope this helps!
Ok. Now update AGAIN.
I've kidnapped your mother's dog. You might see it again if you update.
Last one looks pretty good. KEEP WORKING!!!!!
Stay in touch. And crit this when you get bored. DO IT.

DRAW UNTILL IT HURTS
AND THEN DRAW SOME MORE
Been awhile.
Thanks for the love guys! I'll try and update this thing here and there.
Here is a little doodle from this morning.
Here is a doodle that went a bit too far.
And here is a character I've been working on. Started in pencil, and then scanned in and finished the lines in PS. I will probably never try to do lines in PS again. Unless I have a cintiq or something. Took forever.

Hey Misch, glad to see you back in action. Kick ass.
Your far going "doodle" is killer. I think you could tone down the saturation of the sky just a smudge and the foreground would rock balls.
The guy looks awesome, too. I did some studies of the movie Predator before drawing a dude with a gun, that might also help you to play around with later. I know it's not a gun, but same principle. And I found it fun as shit, so I figured I'd plant the idea.
Do it. Do it all!

Not sure if this one is going anywhere.

I think you need to finish that one, Misch. Sometimes you just gotta finish one- go a little further than you're comfortable with. I think you could achieve a lot if you spent a little extra time on that one.
But yeah, move to Blacksburg. Haha. I can guarantee you a job at a restaurant (though it is a little brutal... I can explain) and the rent up here can be super cheap. I wouldn't recommend it, though!
But this way neither of us will be alone, but we'll both be productive!

So a little over a month ago I moved out of my parents house (yay!) and into a new place. This new place had an unused basement area that I turned into a studio for myself!
Took sooo long, and I wasn't really drawing much during this time, which is a bit depressing. But now it's done, and I can draw allllll I want in my sweet new space!
(sorry for the bad photomerge, I'm no expert.)
Don't be fooled by these pics, this space is pretty big. That desk in there (which I built from scratch!) is eight feet long. And the TV on it is a 32".

Gonna get back to the weekly updates. Yay!
Anyway, here is a thing. Need to clean up/actually draw the hands...
![]()
I was drawing this thing, and then decided to see if other colors worked better. Which is the best?

hey brotha, thanks for dropping by my sketchbook! i love the last few pics, and great job on creating that new studio! i hope its working out good for ya! the desk looks wicked man, nice job on that too!
as far as the last dino pics go, i think it really depends on what sort of feel your going for, because the first image works really well for like a classic dinosaour image, but the other two would work really well for like something that is from another world. i would say the 3rd one is my favorite.

Man what an awesome fucking studio you got setup now.
Now just add mini-fridge, huge couch to pass out on and
you are set to go.
Cool stuff you got in here, I'm going to come back and look through
the whole thing.
Just have fun.

Sample logo and website for an indie game I was working on. I made the logo back when i was working on the project, but I needed a web design portfolio, so I mocked up a website using it.
I hope I get the job I'm interviewing for, because webdesign is stupid easy and they are trying to pay me 40-45k a year. hahah suckers.
And also this. Not the biggest fan of it, but I'm moving on.

Mini dump. Trying to get back into the swing of things.

Been awhile. Working like fifty hours a week, but still drawing as time permits.
Here is some random stuff at various stages of completion.
And I thing I did as a secret santa art trade for another forum.

Been awhile!
Welp. Here is some new stuff from me.
I moved out to Austin, and was able to pick up some freelance work. Here are a few of the better ones from the project.
Thanks for looking! I have some sketch pages I intend to scan soonish too.
Trying to get back into more of a routine. Working on both drawing and design at the same time.
Here is a website design Im working on for my sister's bf.
Then I kind of have this 'brand' in mind. Inspired by a Faulkner quote, which I wound to be a little discomforting in a good way.
Here is a shiny logo for it. "KYD" or Kill your darlings. I have a simple black and white version too.
And then a poster type of thing. This is kind of new territory for me, because it's bassicly a type driven poster, so it's concept is super important. idk. Let me know what you guys think
And then there is this stupid little drawing haha. I just wanted to try and draw something wacky.
