Hey guys, I graduated University about a year ago, and now I am on my journey to make a portfolio worthy of submission for a job. Watch the drama unfold live!

Some figures from class. The model was really stiff, but I guess its my job to make the figure move anyway, right? (About five to ten minutes each, I think)
Maybe I'll get a reply sometime, haha.![]()
cool man, colors look pretty awesome.
http://conceptart.org/forums/attachm...1&d=1159286414 this one is great - now lets see like a finity of those more.![]()

Thanks tiger! Im sure Ill be busting my hump all year long in my figure class.
Might as well post these too, I guess.
In class doodle from today...
Hi sublimus
good start here. to crit working on your anatomy and proportions is always a good idea...I would say that your lighting seems to be inconsistant... The shadows sometime appear on different sides of the same figure.
keep em coming
nice start to your sketchbook post more.
rmore: thanks! I'll try and post often.
SantaClaus: Yeah, my values and anatomy are pretty much all over the place. More ref work is definately in order.
Aaaaaand, speaking of bad values and anotomy; an update!!![]()
(the last one is something I have working in crit forum (still pretty early, I guess)
Some junk.
Some abstract/color study/brush study type stuff, and some sketches too.
Poor likeness in the last sketch, but I think you get the idea.
-Thanks a million for stopping my sketchbook. I'm so glad you like my sketches..... You've starting nice studies & interesting sketches are here. Humans drawing & pencils are really nice..... keep em up........ GOOD LUCK!.....![]()

Two sp's from today
A crap sketch and two wip/sketches
Sketch...
The lack of replies is kind of discouraging...![]()
Hi there. Looking good, long time since I saw a ninja turtle
Keep it basic and focus at one thing at the time. My suggestion to help you with figure drawing is to check out loomis and learn the proportions and then the skeleton and where the landmarks on the human body is. These two will go hand in hand when you draw and try to get the proportions right.
Hugs!
O_o
Good start, I like the designs on some of your characters, what Pencilator suggested is something I need to do too so I can't pick too much on little stuff like "proportions"... wtf cares about that anyways
Seriously, you got a good book going here. I especially like the Akuma-like guy with the guy and the skull on his armor in your first post, consider fleshing that one out a bit more and coloring it. Is the very first vehicle a take on the batman-mobile from the last movie? It reminds me of it for some reason. Cool colors and textures in #12.
Keep them coming, I enjoyed watching.

Nice start for a sketchbook. No need to worry about replies, they will come...meanwhile, make sure you keep the thread up, update often, and you'll get what you want.Anyway, not much to say at this point, nice ideas, check out anatomy books, loomis, hogart or bridgeman and STUDY, cause thats what is needed to improve.Keep up the good work
ciao
ohhh hey! There's a drawing of me in here! lol, I'm in Foster's class too.
Nice color pictures. Keep on sketching and posting and the crits will come. I had a sketch thread too, for a while, but I got discouraged when the comments weren't coming fast enough. :p Just continue posting and I'm sure people will start to notice. I like the last sketch with the grim reaper-ish guy.
Thanks for the replies guys!
I'll scan some of my stuff in tomorrow probably, and hopefully get some studies in too, because I desperately need to draw from reference!
Alright, sorry for not updating for so long, but here are some things that I have done lately.
First one is a prelim drawing for a final; redo something from art history and do it in your own way. (Man at the crossroads.)
And this is another sketch that I want to take to completion. Dont what medium yet. Kind of a life/death sorta thang, I guess.
Here are some figure drawings from the past week. About ten minutes each. And then a painting from today, about an hour on that, I think.
This page will overload the servers soon enough! Haha.
Started working on that sketch two posts up, and this is what I have after a few hours. I hope to really work this one hard and get a nice result.
My first moleskin! (+ two random things)
Here is a wip I started last night.
Some scribbles, I suppose. And a small update on the other thing. Needs to be pulled together, as it is pretty patchy right now.
A little diddy from this evening.
Hi!
nice! improvement for sure. your figure drawing are good. and your didi stuff is getting there too. to crit... I think your best color pieces are the ones that are darker. but with them so dark you have the room to put in some great highlights to push the demensionality of them. I reall like that most recent robot. love that iron giant 1950s look to robots as you can probably see by the christmas Illustration in my SB. It also has like a japanese toy robot look to it which I also have come to like! i'll keep stoppin by if you keep a postin!
hey man, i can really see the improvement in your figurative works. dont forget to study heads though. a daily sp helps a lot! at least thats what helps mecheers.
SantaClaus: Thanks for stopping by! Yeah, for some reason I am afraid of contrast. I think a full value range could help a lot of my work.
Kicek: Thanks, yeah. I could always use some head studies.
And one sketch + two wips
