You were a bit harsh on my pal kuniva yesterday! I know there is alot to be learnt for his method of learning! We are all here to learn! You could of been a bit more considerate.
Any way. Thumbs up for the mutated chinchilla in a bottle concept. Fantasic work!
Keep it up.

I didnt mean at all to be harsh. I guess it sounded a bit sarcastic to begin with on the net,but I didnt at all mean it that way.And I'm sorry if it did. Its a bit hard to tell I honestly thought that alien thing was his, haha, I just pointed it out cause it caught my eye in my favorite magazine.
Thank you for stopping by thoughI appreciate it!

Blue, Bard, Nkristian, Tigermilk, Cwn- Thanks guysI need to update my chincilla. I actually havent touched it since i scanned it. Im still working out a background design or a scene. I kinda just left it in its case though and did other crap...lol.
Just bought this a week or two ago. Its a nice sketchbook, cheap, but nice. Recycled paper. It's cover is made of like, leaves and stuff...or bamboo. Anyway, its not as smooth as earthbound, its a lot rougher.
90% of the artwork you see was done in class.![]()

You have some really nice drawings in here! I like your stylistic take on faces a lot. Watch out for some of those proportions though. I noticed your arms are consistantly just a little too short. Elbows are even with the top of the pelvic girdle, wrists are a little less than a third of the way down the thigh and fingertips roughly halfway down the thigh.
Keep up the good work and keep drawing!

grae- THanks! Agh no wonder the bodies always look too long. Thanks for that, I'll keep it in mind.
Just finished it up a bit more.

Hey Dished! Develop the bear with wings. You could be on to something![]()
Im liking the recycled paper sketches. Your understanding and style has changed. You've become more solid in your sketching, which is a good thing. Keep at it. Remember, when shading/rendering, determine your lightest lights, and your darkest dark. It will help you determine the most dominant areas in your sketching. Sometimes we shade too dark, and the image is lost. Or we dont shade enough and the image is too light and flat.
Keep at it girl! you have plenty years in you yet!

nice stuff man.. that pig feotus kicks ass. keep up the good work, and most specially studies. that last guy in your last pencil pages post is great, the figure has a dynamism that I like: you don't know if he's going to fall from that cylinder pedestal or if he's just doing a balance excercise.

Hawkin - wil do! thanks![]()
Molly - hey there! Thanks very much! i will keep that in mind. I realise now that some of the sketches i posted up looked flat cause it was rendered too much. that blobby 3 headed thing...
Gringoloco- Thanks man! Hmm..i think i'll do something further with the cylinder guy.
font is horribleI need to brush up on typography theories/design /composition

nice updates! It's been a while! hehe
I also love your new sketchbook! San makakabili niyan? I think it's really good for experimenting.
Pls check on my SB soon.![]()
pat- hehe. Were you able to get one? I think theyre selling til midaugust. If not, I got their card! XD
Quick gestures. I dont do enough of em. Copied off the bridgman books.
First try/warm up.
2nd try.

Nice bridgman studies Dished! Really cool stuff in here, I enjoy looking at the stuff , its very interesting! I wish that you put more values into your work, You keep it all so flat, but it still looks good haha, I think you might make it even, a lot, better with some more values! and also lineweight ?
Keep it up! Looks mighty good!
Heya
Looking good, gesture is so hard to get a grip of. I'm trying to simplify the body to get clean poses and exaggerated gestures but It's not easy. Stay at it!
That pig fetus is wicked cool. Love it
A tip when working on brown/darker paper and with white colours. Try not to mix the white 'lead' with the original lead, it will smudge to an ugly greyish colour instead of the clean white. Your midtones comes from the paper, not from mixing the highlights with the shadows.
Keep posting!
.hugs
Finally made a decent self portrait--
still has issues though--like the nose and the eyes, need to work on the likeness of it and all.
(drawn from the mirror, the pictures were taken afterwards.)
Dile- Yeah, I'll work on that--ill do some refenced stuff with strong lighting for studies. Thanks man!i noticed though after bridgman my gestures look rather squarish a bit, so imna stick with what you said and go with hogarth for a bit hahah.
mortem- heya!thanks man!
ahh yeah for sure, makes it look dirty
ill keep that in mind
![]()
pat- Ahh yeah! I was thinking though of actually coupling it in with hogarth. Cause studying from one anatomy book at a time might not be as helpful. thanksI do need work with planes and forms!
Did these while watching Scott Robertson's hovercraft dvd.
I enjoyed the series. So I decided to draw stuff from the HarryPotter books for fun.

Some quick hand studies from last night. These are all about 4.5-6 inches.
![]()
Hands are really important to study, and you're doing a good job at it so far! I would recommend the book "the book of 100 hands" by bridgman, it covers basically all you need to know about drawing hands. It helps to know the underlying structure and mechanics work if you're drawing hands from imagination. (i know i still struggle with this.. but practice makes perfect - eventually!)
Dig the self portrait, good pencil skills!! Cool SB, keep it up![]()
Good studies Dished
Hands are in general just plain evil, But just follow Slash's advice and you will do fine. I should follow that advice as well ^^
Keep it up gurl!

Nice stuff Dished! Always cool to see people my age on here.
I would suggest doing a bunch more of those SPs. They're a great way to learn facial structure and you can do them practically anywhere.
As far as random crits go, a lot of your faces seem to have wide-open eyes. Maybe try and mix it up a bit? Also, try and do a still life or SP (or anything really), but when you render it try and really push your daks and pay attention to the midtones, because only a very small portion of your face )or whatever your drawing) is actually pure white.
Hope I got across what I was trying to say. Keep up the great work!

Slash - Thanks man!Im gonna order it after christmas! Ive seen a couple of pages from it and it looks awesome.
D@niel - Thank you very much
Dile- hehe thanks =]
Cup of Joe - Thanks! The tip you gave me about the whites as well as the tones really helped outI found that I was kinda lost with shading most of the midtones cause I was used to leaving most of it white so Im working on that
cOuple of life drawing stuff I did today and yesterday.
